Ok, now Christmas is here, we need to get SekeRob streaming movies from his Linux cruncher to his Xbox at the cost of a few cycles. Ushare does this.

Need a ubuntu guru for a problem I'm having. Had to switch to using display port on my ATI 6950. Doesn't like it. Not sure if the latest update broke catalyst or of it's a port issue. Using 10.10 on a dual X5670 PC. Currently using ubuntu basic driver. Tried aticonfig but still no luck. Any help appreciated.

No. Built this PC with a super micro X8DTI-F motherboard. It's dual boot with win7 64 and runs fine under windows.

To gksudo or to sudo, that's the question. Occasionally when following install instructions you'll see the former instead of the latter. Here's some explanation and I'll take heed and try to apply this whenever doing support posts to type "gksudo gedit cc_config.xml" instead of "sudo gedit cc_config.xml" in terminal or via an Alt-F2 launch [if that shortcut works for you to run a one off command].

Saw this bit http://www.h-online.com/security/news/item/Li...work-problem-1414033.html about a new kernel 3.0.017 to fix a [low chance] vulnarebility through IGMP (disabled in my router] and checked my Ubuntu machine to see it's still on 3.0.0.14 . Can't see 3.0.0.15 or 16 ever having been offered for upgrade, so wondered if anyone has seen it in any of the major distros? Google only pops up a result for Puppy Linux http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=...a99f083bfa4c70e0d130ec7be
