I'm a small cruncher and just returned after long time out.
I like some ideas mentioned here, and I would like to learn more about tips from experienced people. ![]() |

thank you all for support it. there are many threads in FAQ forum, with a lot of tips about WCG settings and machines setups to became more fast your WU's processing.
----------------------------------------But about badges, I guess that is a direct dependency of processed time. So, keep crunch on and never give up ! Good luck ! ![]()

For AMABEL, shedia, RuyTheGuy, chimarrita and all others with limited badges or not who are interested in some tips about getting badges.
The present completion time estimates for current projects: DDDT2 - Sep 2010 HFCC - Nov 2010 HPF - Jun 2011 HCC - Dec 2011 HCMD2 - Dec 2011 FA@H - Apr 2012 For those that want to get badges and are not too bothered which projects they crunch in the short run, it might be best to select DDDT2 and HFCC for now. Keep an eye on how many days you have completed and how close you are to the next badge. Work out which badge you can make before the project ends. I suggest that for now you select to crunch other work units if your first choice projects do not have any work. When you have the highest badge you can achieve (before the completion estimate), deselect that project and crunch tasks from the other projects. Remember there might be other projects in the near future and this might change the deadlines quite a bit. |

Additionally, I would like to share some important links which could help too, mainly who don't read the forums frequently (maybe some out of date, but hopeful anyway): WCG Projects System Requirements Matrix http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=14608 WCG Projects Timeline http://wcg.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline WCG The Start Here Forum Frequently Asked Questions Index http://bit.ly/G9rh3 WCG Supplemental Performance Charts http://bit.ly/WCGGLB WCG Project Badges Sumary http://wcg.wikia.com/wiki/Project_badges ![]()

honestly i think any person who manages to make any badge is welcome and i am so glad to see even a person who gets there first bronze badge..
----------------------------------------alot of us dont have the money and dont have a time machine to get some of the badges but for myself i am happy with what i got (well want to get the new badge still) my self i am approaching the 9th year of cpu time crunching and about 10 days of crunching on DDDT-2 before i get another badge. remember if your a hard core i want badges to watch the expected end time for projects .. i know on a few projects i decided to keep at 1 year instead of knowing i wont make 2 years before the project ends and swapped to another project to improve my badge. ![]() |

Dear nasher, good see you here, you are very welcome, ever !
----------------------------------------Thank you to share your thoughts with us. I particularly appreciated very much. I think that you are completely right about be a place for all, with or whitout badges (as I mentioned at my first post here). I hope that we can capture attention enough from many crunchers friends here, to became this place a great space to share all things related with badges... ![]()
