Ok GIBA. With the new rebranding I have a chance to qualify to your club once I get the DDDT2 badge and the Beta badge. It becomes feasible over time. See you in the future. ![]() Our club Hypernova, our club please, and yes, do you have a great set of badges anyway, and granted acess here as any interested on that ! It can became feasible at the time that you assume that your set is great enough to celebrate with us... Think about it ! Is for free ! Is for fun ! And probably, as quick as you can imagine, this year we will see besides DDDT2 projecty, some new ones appearing, like: *CEP2 and IADS2 (almost confirmed, based on discussions in many posts in the foruns away)... *maybe NRW2, if the scientists speed up the results from the project in place that are in final batches now... *maybe AC@H2, if the scientists from Africa or from other place in the World assume the results from AC@H1 and transform it in a new project or just extend the studies for other Africa places or World areas... *maybe some brand new project, from some scientific institution that will discovery on WCG the way to do great researches... *maybe finally (why not ?) a brand new one which dare all controverses and will use the powerful help of GPU's available now for long time and when used under certain rules/parameters do a very good job... *and so on... just imagine the possibilities ! ![]() Edit: Title changes
Cheers ! GIB@

----------------------------------------I can qualify for the being here since day 1 club but even so I'm not quite there yet on the badges front I've been so close to getting that Beta Badge for ages (Could you have a word in Kevin's ear to adjust the scheduler for me - a day and a half should do it) and AfricanClimate@home came and went without so much as one WU coming my way :-( But that 4*4 square of yours is awesome Congrats on the crunching and long may it continue Dave "13 badges" Autumns ![]() |

With the great set that you have, you can participate in any club for sure... Beta's ever are a patience exercise plus timely luck and plus a lot of more luck yet... really are rare and hard to get at anytime for any project ! I don't have Kevin's phones to try ask him anything but it is a good idea ! Anyway, we all have the chance to get a few more badges this year, once besides DDDT2 we expect have IADS2, CEP2, maybe NRW2 and AC@H2 (Is it a dream ?), and probably some brand news ones (Why not ?). Hope my crystal ball don't disappoint we all ... ![]() Edit: Title changes

GIBA, aside from the science, its people like you that make the forums a delight to visit, very open and positive to all who contribute to the projects here. It's always nice to see you, uplinger, sekrob and many others posting! I don't post much myself, but I read a lot. I was actually a little surprised when I saw just how much time I'd contributed. But I guess the 4 computers I now have crunching have a total of 14 cores going at it. Also have a pair of ATI cards and one nVidia thatw ould love to help if a project ever codes for it! Cheers to all, keep up the good work!

I remember that personally I started on the foruns late (more than 2 years after started in WCG I guess), mainly due my hard life period at that times (PhD defense, born of my daughter, lost of my mother to Cancer, lost of my brother, change of country, change of work, and so on...). I learned that foruns are very useful sometimes and very disappointers other times. At end, I think personally that we need explore it more and more as a powerful tool to help each other, ever ! ![]() Edit: Title changes

Hi GIBA,
----------------------------------------I think it's kind of offendfull to some of the Grid's users, to form a "Full set of badge Club" or even a "All badge you can get since you're joined WCG club". Personally, I'm quite close to receive my bronze Beta badge and a DDDT2 badge woudn't be out of reach for me as well. But, to my opinion, you would verry much disqualify persons, who fit into the following 2 categories: - 1. Members with limited resources. Let's say, a person can only contribute 1 crunch day per 1 calendar week and this person is active for 1 year on WCG. So, this person could crunch 52 days (3 bronze badges) in his active "WC'-live"; - 2. Members who stick to 1 or 2 projects for personal reasons. Let's say a person is only interested in AIDS and Cancer, due to personal reasons. But, this person has crunched 150 years in total to these projects. Both categories of people would be disqualified by this thread. I'm sure, you can understand my conservations about this thread. Personally, I'm not against it (although I don't meet the qualifications yet), but I do think you could "hurt" people by unalowing them to be "part of the group" by either their posibillities or their personal choices. Let's celebrate each member's participation. Weather it's a bronze badge or a Sapphire one! Then again... no offence towards you as a person, GIBA! Edit: typo Hi Sander, thank you very much for your contribution posting your thoughts here. Ever is good hear you away in the foruns. Sorry, but I can't agree with you about your point of view. And I'm not invalidating your opinion about it, but I just have a very clear idea about it when I decide start the thread. It is for celebration only ! Believe me ! This thread is an invitation to celebrate, not a offense of any kind directed intentionally or no, for anyone. It is for fun and enjoyment. Is for free and open for anyone post thoughts here, and any thoughts will be accepted since follow the WCG rules/forum policies. There aren't intentions to provoque or hurt any people, in any step of WCG scenarios, and about anything in any conditions, never ! There aren't here blame words or ofenses of any aspects, including the title. And yes, anyone with any kind of set of badges (include just one, or none, or just a mindset of dream badges) could feel included and post here. We don't intend limited anyone and anything about it, on the contrary. So, if you read one of my posts above, you will find a suggestion about WCG to reward anyone which contributed to projects, at least with a day or just a result, and in this way to be qualified to get a single kind of badge (like we have at begining times of WCG). Sincerely, in my humble opinion I can't imagine an idea more inclusive to help all crunchers than this one... And, when I read many posts across the foruns, is rare see anyone who don't get any badge yet posting something (but there are crunchers in this situation for sure, I saw few ones during my years here, mainly beginners), and I do not believe that those people will be hurt with me just due this thread. And in this way, I can change the title to become more inclusive yet, for example: BADGES CLUB, but ever with any title like that, and under your point of view, we yet will be ofensive for someone... so there are no rules or titles or intentions or just choices, which we can take / propose / defend, without exclude someone in some way. Is hard to avoid it in all possibilities of scope, scenarios and abrangency. It is part of our human society when we take decisions about anything and go ahead on that. Additionaly, under your point of view, any thread related with badges or many other subjects like servers, OS, multicore machines, laptops, etc, have potentialy the same problem, once just are to discuss subjects or something that many categories of people, like the both mentioned by you, could feel excluded in some way... think about it ! But anyway you have a good point to be explored and discussed. And as I mentioned before, it is just my thoughts about my clear point of view, and doesn't matter if make sense like yours clearly make for me, once it is for fun and entertainment only ! Let's just celebrate without restrictions ! Hope that you can get all badges that you are pursuing, and hope that you help us with more good ideas, mainly to improve the clear understanding of the positive behavior and celebration spirit of this thread, for anyone. Thank you in advance for your engagement on that ! Best regards ! ![]() Edit: Title change
