Re: Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together Phase 2 Beta Type A Dec 16 2009

Mathilde,

Do you know if other work units on 168 failed as well? Also, what was the error you got for your failure?

Uplinger-- Wow, it does appear that these betas are very consistent with memory usage. My values fall right within your ranges and every time I check, I get the same results with top:

Tasks: 210 total, 6 running, 202 sleeping, 0 stopped, 2 zombie
Cpu(s): 0.2%us, 0.2%sy, 92.9%ni, 6.7%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
Mem: 4018756k total, 3720404k used, 298352k free, 233840k buffers
Swap: 10174456k total, 884k used, 10173572k free, 2412904k cached

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
30489 roger 39 19 544m 202m 2568 R 89.4 5.1 2403:31 wcg_beta10_char <===

17504 roger 30 10 127m 74m 22m R 45.2 1.9 58:00.19 acemd_6.70_x86_

I guess this answers any questions about memory usage smile

This WU is now about an hour out from completion. One wingman has completed successfully with 43.16 hours CPU time.

The machine (XP PRO SP3 1024 MB RAM) has crunched Rice-WUs in the weeks before and has now finished a HCMD-WU- no problems.

Re: Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together Phase 2 Beta Type A Dec 16 2009

Stats: 37 results validated for a mean of 34 hours. This is by no means representative since just reading here it seems that some were able to grab 23 of the 221 unique tasks >10%... not sure whether this provides a wide diversity of devices to say conclusively these A beta types are fully stable... we need way more testing ;P

- exit code -1073741795 is interesting:

http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?language=1&view=383

"Illegal Instruction (0xc000001d) at address 0x00402818" means that you are trying to run an application built with instruction sets that are newer than the ones that are built into the CPU.
For example, an optimized Seti application with SSE3, while the maximum the CPU can do is SSE2.

This can be fixed by running CPU-Z and then choosing the correct application from the optimized bunch (or in Seti's case, the Lunatics installer).

Opti?

Hmm:
17-Dec-2009 00:19:36 [---] Processor features: fpu tsc sse sse2 mmx
17-Dec-2009 00:19:36 [---] OS: Microsoft Windows XP: Professional x86 Editon, Service Pack 3, (05.01.2600.00)

I did'nt change the system.

I got 20 WUs (as my grandparents allways said: be kind to Santa, if you want a lot of presents. biggrin ).Let's see:
4 are running with Ubuntu
7 are XP 64-bit
2 are Win 7 Pro 64bit
2 are Win 7 Ulti 64
1 is Win 7 Ulti 32
1 is Win 7 XP Mode
4 are on different XP 32 bit systems. smile

Re: Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together Phase 2 Beta Type A Dec 16 2009

Well it suggests there is something in the science compile that requires e.g. SSE3 and the particular CPU not having that... I'll leave it to the techs and for others to read if they have a similar fail cool

On my XP-64 Box is an I-7 working- WCG Client there is 6.10.18 and I get:

Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2

CPU-Z says:
MMX,SSE,SSE2,SSE3,SSSE3,SSE 4.1,SSE 4.2, EM64T

All Mainboard Drivers are installed, so far I can see.

I'll cross my fingers, that the 7 WUs will be valid.
