Mathilde,
Do you know if other work units on 168 failed as well? Also, what was the error you got for your failure? -Uplinger |

Uplinger-- Wow, it does appear that these betas are very consistent with memory usage. My values fall right within your ranges and every time I check, I get the same results with top:

One wingman has completed successfully with 43.16 hours CPU time. |

Mathilde, Do you know if other work units on 168 failed as well? Also, what was the error you got for your failure? -Uplinger The machine (XP PRO SP3 1024 MB RAM) has crunched Rice-WUs in the weeks before and has now finished a HCMD-WU- no problems. On the result page: <core_client_version>6.2.28</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> - exit code -1073741795 (0xc000001d) </message> ..... wcgStepsDone = 4900 wcgSteps1 = 5000 wcgCyclesDone = 45 wcgCycles = 50 pctComplete = 0.919600 wcgStepsDone = 5000 wcgSteps1 = 5000 wcgCyclesDone = 45 wcgCycles = 50 pctComplete = 0.920000 Unhandled Exception Detected... - Unhandled Exception Record - Reason: Illegal Instruction (0xc000001d) at address 0x00AEB64A Two files were absent at upload: 17-Dec-2009 00:28:01 [World Community Grid] Starting BETA_erlc_a168_ps0000_1 17-Dec-2009 00:28:01 [World Community Grid] Starting task BETA_erlc_a168_ps0000_1 using beta10 version 612 18-Dec-2009 15:43:43 [World Community Grid] Computation for task BETA_erlc_a168_ps0000_1 finished 18-Dec-2009 15:43:43 [World Community Grid] Output file BETA_erlc_a168_ps0000_1_0 for task BETA_erlc_a168_ps0000_1 absent 18-Dec-2009 15:43:43 [World Community Grid] Output file BETA_erlc_a168_ps0000_1_1 for task BETA_erlc_a168_ps0000_1 absent 18-Dec-2009 15:43:45 [World Community Grid] Started upload of BETA_erlc_a168_ps0000_1_2 18-Dec-2009 15:43:49 [World Community Grid] Finished upload of BETA_erlc_a168_ps0000_1_2 You can resend me the Beta- if you want. |

Stats: 37 results validated for a mean of 34 hours. This is by no means representative since just reading here it seems that some were able to grab 23 of the 221 unique tasks >10%... not sure whether this provides a wide diversity of devices to say conclusively these A beta types are fully stable... we need way more testing ;P
----------------------------------------- exit code -1073741795 is interesting: http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?language=1&view=383 "Illegal Instruction (0xc000001d) at address 0x00402818" means that you are trying to run an application built with instruction sets that are newer than the ones that are built into the CPU. For example, an optimized Seti application with SSE3, while the maximum the CPU can do is SSE2. This can be fixed by running CPU-Z and then choosing the correct application from the optimized bunch (or in Seti's case, the Lunatics installer). Opti?

Well it suggests there is something in the science compile that requires e.g. SSE3 and the particular CPU not having that... I'll leave it to the techs and for others to read if they have a similar fail

I'll leave it to the techs and for others to read if they have a similar fail On my XP-64 Box is an I-7 working- WCG Client there is 6.10.18 and I get: Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 CPU-Z says: MMX,SSE,SSE2,SSE3,SSSE3,SSE 4.1,SSE 4.2, EM64T All Mainboard Drivers are installed, so far I can see. I'll cross my fingers, that the 7 WUs will be valid. |
