Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Supreme Court ruling is good, bad and ugly
Monday's key US legal decision on emissions regulation was influenced by the unjustified attacks on climate science, says Douglas Kysar.

Melt pools on North Pole webcam and spreading, earliest ever observed, since the 19th of June!

http://www.arctic.noaa.gov/npole/2011/images/noaa1-2011-0622-012546.jpg

It's 24 hours day, and overcast, so are those clouds now bouncing off solar SW rays or holding in Earth's LW radiation? Cam's internal temp 7C... who knows there will be claims of another UHI distortion ;P

Recovery, but what part of the planet, which planet that is I've not been able to discern yet. Parallel universes squibbing about dimensions. The problem is a bit bigger than the 8th decimal.

For the funpack that unchecked happily accepts the Ian Plimer volcanic CO2 burbs, far outstripping Human output [it does not, the annual does not even come close to what motor-vehicles spit out world wide each year.]

Information is Beautiful:

The Grant net: 1 Icelandic volcano having a negative CO2 footprint of > 200,000 tons CO2... and CO2 is very long lived in the atmosphere [take a guess with google]... opposed, watermols not even 10 days these years... then they rain out, in places as the Northern US/Canada, East Australia, Norway in more than little UK drizzle quantities ... by the bucket ["by the Gallon" we read recently in this thread and that was thought to be funny.]

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2011/jun/20/artificial-meat-emissions

Cultured meat

I can't wait to ask it what it thinks of the lastest exhibition at the V&A and the rise of aestheticism in painting while we partake a fine ChÃteau Mouton Rothschild and compare todays to the 1945 vintage with it's spiciness surging out of the glass like a sudden eruption of Mount Etna, cinnamon, eucalyptus, ginger. Impossible to describe but inimitable, incomparable. The Cultured Meat would comment on how extraordinarily dense, and opulent it was with layers of creamy fruit, behaving more like a 1947 Pomerol and you would have to agree that the Meat really knows it's onions

maybe Douglas wasn't so wide of the mark

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4GAuuBbb3w

not for the squeamish

Don't worry Sir i'll be very humane pig

ah it cuts down on the CO2 and we know just how concentrated that is..

Almost homeopathic

Note in any of these satellite images do you see the activities of Mankind?

No? So that'll be just the erupting volcano then wink

3 more to add to your list Sek

Some a might bit bigger than the unpronounceable one.

Together they will have an Earth cooling effect

First by directly blocking the Sun, each volcanic ash particle casts it's own shadow. Second by the dust particles seeding cloud formation, blocking the Sun and increasing planetary albedo. Third by the emission of SO2 which forms highly reflective plaques of Sulphuric Acid, more so than pure water droplets, once again reflecting the Sun.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

James Hanson busted.
In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Washington, D.C., a group claims NASA is withholding documents that show James Hansen failed to comply with ethics rules and financial disclosures regarding substantial compensation he earned outside his $180,000 taxpayer-paid position as director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies.
The lawsuit claims Hansen privately profited from his public job in violation of federal ethics rules, and NASA allowed him to do it because of his influence in the media and celebrity status among environmental groups, which rewarded him handsomely the last four years.”

Like I've said all along, it's about the money. I hope he goes to jail.

Yup, if one cant discredit the [too inconvenient] science then discredit the person... seems to be a very old strategy. The main front of this is a guy called Paul Chesser, who's got a long history in this... his CV includes working for the Heartland [Manufacturing] Institute. Plz, do follow the money of that outfit too. Hansen writes books as well [and gets the royalties], but presume that burning them is the much preferred method in the HMI quuarters The truth will surface and when it does it will be dismissed again as a conspiracy, like with Phil Jones and Micheal Mann.
I hope he goes to jail.
For sure public attitude once again is demonstrated to be: Guilty until proven innocent.

Good Night, AND Good Luck.
