Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

if you want to keep the status quo racially speaking

get your big car increase your emissions n sit back while the developing countries try to follow you at the expense of there climate n people

it is the third world catching up with us that is the major source of emissions the third worlds heavy industy is doing the damage at the expense of the third worlds climate

my stats say that europe because of its unique global position is the last place to see any change and the its 4 the positive anyway

china n india n pakistan are the major polluters

go get them n there despotic leaders if you dont want a mild improvement in your own weather

there again if your a yank its gonna be wild n windy

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

We're loving the Man Made Global Warming here in the UK

Here's how it's been for the last few days and is set to continue

(NOAA relented on their 24 hour caching peace)

Globally it looks like this

The UK the land with all of these requirements relating to Man Made Global Warming

International Agreements and Instruments

United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
An international agreement developed under the auspices of the United Nations which provides the basis for global action on climate change. The Convention was adopted in 1992 and came into force in 1994.
Kyoto Protocol
A protocol to the UNFCCC. It sets out legally binding emissions targets for developed countries to reduce their collective greenhouse gas emissions by 5.2% to 1990 levels over a five year period 2008-2012.
Marrakesh Accords
A rule book developed by the Conference of Parties 7 (COP 7) 2001 for the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol.
Copenhagen Accord
A non-binding international agreement made at the UN Climate Change Conference 2009 in Copenhagen. Under the Accord countries have agreed voluntarily to commit to take action to tackle climate change, including specifying the cuts they pledge to make to carbon emissions by 2020. The Accord also provides for funding from developed countries to help poorer countries adapt to the impacts of climate change and adopt emission reduction measures.

Laws and Measures adopted by the European Community

Communication from the Commission to the Council and the European Parliament on EU policies and measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions: towards a European Climate Change Programme (ECCP) COM/2000/0088 final
Provides for the setting up an inter-departmental body tasked with identifying and preparing the implementation of measures to combat climate change.
Communication from the Commission, of 10 January 2007, entitled: "Limiting Global Climate Change to 2 degrees Celsius - The way ahead for 2020 and beyond" [COM(2007) 2 final]
Sets out the EC strategy on climate change: the way ahead for 2020 and beyond.
Communication from the Commission to the European Council and the European Parliament of 10 January 2007, "An energy policy for Europe" [COM(2007) 1 final

Directive 2002/91/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2002 on the energy performance of buildings
Requires member states to apply minimum requirements on the energy performance of new and existing buildings, ensure the certification of their energy performance and requires the regular inspection of boilers and air conditioning systems in buildings.
Directive 2003/87/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 October 2003
Establishes a system for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading within the Community and amends Council Directive 96/61/EC
Directive 2004/101/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 October 2004 amending Directive 2003/87/EC
Establishes a scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading within the Community, in respect of the Kyoto Protocol's project mechanisms
Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources
Replaces previous renewables and biofuels directives, and requires member states to share the task of achieving the EU’s 20 percent renewables target by 2020.
Directive 2009/29/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 amending Directive 2003/87/EC
Revises and extends the greenhouse gas emissions trading system for Phase III which will run from 2013 to 2020

Regulates carbon capture and storage
Commission Regulation (EC) No 2216/2004
Provides a standardised and secured system of registries pursuant to Directive 2003/87/EC and Decision 280/2004/EC, as amended by Commission Regulation (EC) No 916/2007 (consolidated version)

UK Policies

Building a Greener Future: policy statement 2007
Confirms the Government's goals that all new homes are to be zero carbon by 2016 by virtue of stricter energy efficiency building regulations.
Energy White Paper of May 2007
Sets out the Government's international and national strategies for sustainable energy.
UK Low Carbon Transition Plan: National Strategy for Climate and Energy, of July 2009
Sets out policies and proposals for meeting the carbon budgets and delivering a 34 percent cut in emissions on 1990 levels by 2020.
Climate Change Adaptation Strategies 2008- 2011
The Environment Agency's action plans for adapting to climate change across all policy areas

here's the link http://www.environmentlaw.org.uk/rte.asp?id=54

Our legal commitment in 2008 is to reduce our CO2 output to 1/5 what it was in 1990 by 2050 (it's in that list as Climate Change Act 2008 and only 3 MP's voted against it's introduction - there are currently 649 MP's)

If it's minus 12C outside your door what are the chances?

What are the chances you are more likely to freeze if Power Companies face the expenses outlined above and need to pass that cost on to their consumers?

?

That graph again

and Winter hasn't even started

Three More Decades of a Cooling Planet
Note: the latest Arctic Blast is setting low temperature records across the Pacific Northwest. The findings below indicate that we better get used to it.

More temperature series fiddling

While the Met Office says this

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11841368

Reality gives us this

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11859868

tonight's lowest NOAA recorded temp in the UK has just bounced on Minus 12C

The NH Winter Months.... December, January and February

Now about this here CO2 causing an ever increasing spiral of Global Temperature................

Changes in the Sun and our great big hot water bottle called the Oceans just might have something to do with it. Throw in changes in Cloud cover and I think that mostly covers it

I notice that North Polar Sea Ice is back bigger than the USA again

Wrap up Warm Folks

Night

As if just to prove the point how foolish we Europeans can be I give you....

http://af.reuters.com/article/energyOilNews/idAFLDE6A317F20101107?sp=true

In the name of the RTFO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renewable_Transport_Fuel_Obligation)
Not many environmentalists think that bio fuels are the way forward. When they replace food crops they cause increases in food prices and food shortage problems. When burnt they release more Carbon, though mainly because the existing technologies were designed to generate energy from oil rather than bio-fuels.
