I'll give you it Sek the 5 Million'ish Sq Kms of Sea Ice extent has reduced in size by 4375 sq kms over the last 5 days give or take the odd pixel
----------------------------------------Citizens of the World we are all doomed, doomed I tell you. We have a new minima this year of 4,948,438 sq kms slightly larger than the greatest extent of the Roman Empire back when it was warmer in 117 AD this is around 4.9 million sq kms Room for the odd polar bear ![]() |

They are good MD but this takes the biscuit today
----------------------------------------http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/75296 From the very same chap John Holdren, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, says that the term "global warming" is "a dangerous misnomerâ that should be replaced with âglobal climate disruption." So that's acronym number 3 First it was Man Made Global Warming which is logical if you are claiming that 389 parts per million CO2 causes the greatest change to the atmospheric temperature in ways not matched in any way whatsoever by changes in the Sun Then when it started to get colder it was anthropogenic climate change. Now it's Global Climate Disruption which means in a age of instant mass global media every standard Hurricane, Heatwave, Cold Snap, Drought and Forest Fire is now fair game for eternal hype. Each and every one will all be your fault because you burn fossil fuel to have a bath or a shower in the morning. In days gone by you would be oblivious to the plight of those around the Globe. But if a tree falls down in a wood and no one see's it does it still make a noise. Yep as it always has done. Now it's carte blanc for a wall to wall 24/7 rolling disaster movie courtesy of what was it again.... Global Climate Disruption.... which must all be completely anthropogenic of course... just ignore any history to the contrary. It really is far worse than at any other time past I tell you Oh joy ![]() ![]() |

I've whittled the named live NOAA weather stations down to 3131 which are generating data 24/7
----------------------------------------I'm now collecting the METAR data from all 3131 into my database every hour - this gives my machine a 10 min break before it has to go around again. Next up I'll run this for a couple of days and eyeball for any "non-conformist" weather stations to get the final set It's going to take some scripting to get the most out of the data available Some stations just collect temperature and that's it. Some temperature and dew point so you can work out the relative humidity. Some Stations also measure wind speed and direction some in Knot's some in Metres per Second. Some stations also measure air pressure in mm of mercury others in inches No lovely RSS standardisation In fact very little by way of standardisation in the METAR standard at all. If only it was this easy http://booty.org.uk/booty.weather/metinfo/codes/METAR_decode.htm thank heavens the temperatures are all in centigrade/celsius Have no fear I will get my paws on that Global Thermometer Nite all ![]() |

Think we kindly need to slap on the choke-band ** when the fat lady next year starts singing in June that the good people et al need to calmly wait till September 13... it's down again: 4,892,813 km square
----------------------------------------Enjoy the day folks for the bill might be in letterbox tomorrow... and paid it will have to be or your grandchildren will really be living in caves. PS, ** choke-band per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choke_(band). As with many wikipedia articles, heath thé for the validity of the content, particular when there is an agenda The neutrality of this article is disputed. ... Oh, yes, compression and compaction inclusive... when the winds blow from the wrong direction, it's still "recovery" in 2D... estimated remaining cubic km ice left is 4,000... approximately 7,800 cubic km below normal: ![]()

funny, seeing this lone post about quantum computing and photons... could tell you something about dual-photon logging in the 80s and what particularly it does to excite certain molecules that are also floating in the air at undesirable quantities, but then I'd be risking to give even a hint of insight into "possibly still" industrial secrets, so I wont. That company who had the smart animation of the overflowing bathtub caught what we're doing collective quite nicely and we've known this and confirmed this as far back as 1950 ;P
----------------------------------------Hey David Autumns, that was a "trick" too to tease out a physical property... you know "Mike's Trick" from the stolen emails. Our summer is never ending... polo and shorts day again down here. 28C and it's only 9:45 AM CEST... solar minimum continuing, in sunspot terms for sure. Some parts of the year it takes just 8 minutes 20 seconds for that light to reach us, but our cycle, for the solarcentric that is, is elliptic, so its for 2 quarters longer and 2 quarters shorter than the average over the course of a year... on the whole it's annualized, translating to ~1361 Watts per square meter on average (SORCE calibration), arriving at top of atmosphere.
