Thanks CO2 destroys the World fans - way to go. Give yourselves a hearty pat on the back. Nothing quite chops down a Malaysian Rain Forest as fast as the need for Palm Oil destined for an Artic to meet the RTFO!

Maybe planting more food might be the better use of agricultural land.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

biggrin

marysduby it's within a gnat's whisker of 2009 wink

http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/home/seaice_extent.htm

still on the plus side but whether it's above or below last year now depends purely on the weather over the coming week

Doesn't chime at all with Gore's Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech where he said on 10th November 2007

"Last September 21, as the Northern Hemisphere tilted away from the sun, scientists reported with unprecedented distress that the North Polar ice cap is "falling off a cliff." One study estimated that it could be completely gone during summer in less than 22 years. Another new study, to be presented by U.S. Navy researchers later this week, warns it could happen in as little as 7 years.

Seven years from now."

Today there's over 15% more ice cover than in 2007 with the extra bit being bigger than Texas. In 2007 it was still melting, in 2010 it has ground to a halt already.

2010 may well turn out to have the latest start and earliest finish to the annual summer melt in the satellite record

and yet still the, currently inactive, Sun is dismissed in favour of CO2 as the greatest driver of our Climate

and as a consequence perfectly good traditional Power Stations cannot be built in the UK but Nuclear ones are A OK and are as safe as houses - which given the sub prime devastation of all our economies is a most unfortunate use of a metaphor

It's Bonkers.

In response to "The science is settled" "A consensus" "Peer Reviewed" UN Nobel Peace Prize sharing, jolly Hockey Stick publishing, Himalayan Glacier disappearing, Amazon vanishing, Sea's rising, Child scaring, "We are all doomed" shouting, unimpeachable Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change.

Yesterday's Telegraph Cartoon says it all.

Enjoy

Rest assured I will
