Re: Ted Kennedy

I wasn't trying to be mean. I just don't have anything good to say about the man. I am truly sorry for his soul tho.

Ted Kennedy was a great American who was an integral part of making the world a better place for the poor and disenfranchised.

and as my grand mother used to tell me, 'If you cant say something nice about someone then dont say anything at all'.

Re: Ted Kennedy

Generally there is a rule about it being in distaste to speak ill of the dead.

So it is distasteful to call Hitler a nasty mass murderer because he is now dead! Do me a favour, dying NEVER made anyone any better than they were when they were alive!

What's the favor?

and I'm not saying that its making him into a better person, yes he did bad things, I've yet to meet a politician that was a saint, the point being though as Astrolab said, " If you cant say something nice about someone then dont say anything at all"

And I think you're making a rather large jump comparing him to Hitler.

Mine also..That's why I said nothing bad about the man. I do differ earthly and spiritual matters tho(maybe wrong choice of words). Hince I'm sorry for his soul.
On Kennedy detractors, I see that you are very good at throwing "first stone". Is this according to your Chriastian religion? I think you just broke some of its rules ... like:

1. "Let He Who Is Without Sin Cast the First Stone"

I cast no stone. I'm not saying he is any better/worse than I am.
2. "Do not judge or you too will be judged?"

I'm not judging the man.
You forgot the one: "you'll know them by their fruits"
But I think to you (PecosRiverM) it applies this rule:

4. "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you."

For you, my friend, are in no right to speak of Christian judgment or hell or heaven for you are not a Christian, based on how you act and what are you saying. And judging others with Christian rule when you yourself you’re not a Christian will attract God's fury for sure.

Also... only the Devil really can't say anything good about a men.
Is this your father that teached you those words?

Why because I belive:
Tho shalt not commit adultry.
Tho shalt not kill.
Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons.
Just to name afew. But hey you can belive whatever you want.

Re: Ted Kennedy

Please do not misquote the Bible.
Leviticus 10:8-9
Then the LORD said to Aaron, "You and your sons are not to drink wine or other fermented drink whenever you go into the Tent of Meeting, or you will die. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come."

You have taken the quotation out of context.

Believing is not the same thing with being a Christian.
And I already talked about your fruits and they are not Christian fruits. Which means, by your own quotation from the Bible, that you are not too.

I don't try to demean you. By all means, be Christian and let us see your christian fruits in the future.

Saying something good about your brother (neighbor) is the way to start. That and allowing people with less money or wisdom to have access to Universal Health Care wihch should be paid by "wish to be Christians", as yourself ... and others as a way to learn the virtue of Charity.

Maybe this one would have been better.

Proverbs 20:1
1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

In the end I still believe Christians shouldn't drink alcohol(fermented) drinks.

Because I feel sorry about his soul. Something all Christians should do. Believing is being Christian.

Do not worry about demeaning me(after 50yrs I don't worry about much).
While I can love the sinner (in the Lord), I still don't like the sin. As for Health Care you know Good and Well I feel it's not the Governments Job to do this. It belongs to each State, Church, and Chairty Org.
You can have all the health care your heart desires(and I'd donate). Just keep Uncle Sam out of it.

I will not argue on a theological theme as simple as that with you. This was solved right from the begining by Jesus and apostols. Sufice to say that trough Jesus words and some of the apostols, your definition for being a Christian is contradicted 100%.

This is solved by Jesus (only some examples): The Parable of Good Samaritan, The Parable of The Two Sons, The Parable of The Barren Fig Tree,
"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me"
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

And Apostles ... here, James:
Faith without Works Is Dead
"14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?"
"17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."
"18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works."
"19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."
"20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"
"22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?"
"24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only."
"26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."

What better charity for poors you find than Universal HealthCare?
Isn't that what the good samaritan did? He provided healthcare for the injured man. He didn't say : "Hey! I work, I have healthcare, You don't work?.... DIE, you lazy bum!!!"

Very easy to scream "I'm a Christian", no? But those damn Christian ideas are pretty hard to put them into your life...., no?
Better just to ignore them and just say: Believing is being Christian.
