Uplinger as requested and I have right now 7 Beta WU's OK as follow (hope help you):

Using Boinc 6.2.28 running over Windows Seven RC:

BETA_ HFCC_ s1_ 00000129_ s1_ 0001_ 0--......32%.... 38 minutes
BETA_ HFCC_ s1_ 00000133_ s1_ 0001_ 0--...... 7%.... 9 minutes
BETA_ HFCC_ s1_ 00000135_ s1_ 0000_ 1--...... 5%.... 7 minutes
BETA_ HFCC_ s1_ 00000138_ s1_ 0000_ 0--...... 12%.... 14 minutes
BETA_ HFCC_ s1_ 00000144_ s1_ 0000_ 2--...... 5%..... 7 minutes
BETA_ HFCC_ s1_ 00000144_ s1_ 0001_ 2--...... 5%..... 7 minutes
BETA_ HFCC_ s1_ 00000212_ s1_ 0000_ 0--...... 5%..... 7 minutes

All above have replicas not reported yet (all IN PROGRESS too).

I don't know if matters, but just taken a look at it and almost all Beta's bove have a lot of replicas and a lot of new replicas reported as errors too.

Re: HFCC Beta

Running presently on my q6600 under Kbuntu 8.04 and boinc Version 5.10.45

BETA_HFCC_s1_00000073_s1_0000_1 using beta7 version 610
BETA_HFCC_s1_00000079_s1_0001_1 using beta7 version 610
BETA_HFCC_s1_00000121_s1_0000_2 using beta7 version 610
BETA_HFCC_s1_00000127_s1_0000_0 using beta7 version 610

Running on my atom 230 shock with hyperthreading under Kbuntu 9.something and boinc 6.2.18

BETA_HFCC_s1_00000243_s1_0000_0 using beta7 version 610
BETA_HFCC_s1_00000237_s1_0000_2 using beta7 version 610

I was actually a bit surprised the mighty atom picked up some as I thought it might be considered too slow a returner for a beta test.

Re: HFCC Beta

Ok, I have figured out what the problem is.

<short version>Basically there is a missing file.</short version>

<long winded version>

AutoDock runs a setup that is called autogrid. This creates the grid map files that are going to be used throughout the run. This step can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. This step runs fine on the work units and creates the grid map files it knows about.

Next, it starts up the Autodock main section. This begins by reading in all of the grid map files that were just created.

There is a list for both steps that tells which files are needed. The second step has an extra grid map file that is required. So this is causing the issues.

</long winded version>

I will be doing a scan on all the beta work units to see what the actual percentage of bad to good work units are. Then once the bad ones are pulled from the stack we'll continue with the beta test.

widdershins, As long as your machine can return work units within the time period allotted for the work units it should get beta work units. We need to test all types of machines, not just the reliable or quick ones...

I am not sure if the beta test will start up again before monday as there are some checks I need to put in the build scripts to test for this error.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped with this testing as this has prevented this problem from happening in production.

Re: HFCC Beta

This WU

BETA_HFCC_s1_00000108_s1_0000_2

disappeared from my Results Status shortly after it errored off (within a couple of hours). Is that expected? I've never seen a WU removed so quickly and I was curious to see what happened with my wingmen.

If it was from the first set of work units that errored out quickly, then yes it would be removed because the second set were fixed. Meaning they had the problem that was known at that time. Then fixed and set to rerun on the grid. Work units have to be uniquely named on the grid so the original work units had to be scrubbed.

Re: HFCC Beta

Is the validator for these turned on? Everything I have returned is still sitting in PV ... even when all three replicants are in.

Same here. The WU's are still on PV. Will they be validated?

At 00:00 UTC nothing validated. Can dream up a few reasons to include several practical, such as wanting to monitor what the fall-out is, so that any mass redistribution of extra copies can be stopped if they turn en-mass for instance into inconclusive. The other is of course, it was forgotten after 2 false starts. Certainly will help the techs to have a quiter weekend and the CA's too not having to link up another multiple threads that will simultaneously pop up.
