Germany has played the best football in the tournament so far, scoring 4 goals in three different games - good entertaining football from a real tournament team
![]() At this stage it could still be an all South American Final, but it's unlikely; I cannot see Paraguay beating Spain, and although Uruguay are handy I think Holland will be favourites. |

I have just returned from the public viewing following great celebrations here in Germany. I cannot believe what game our team delivered today. I remember so many matches against Argentina since the eighties. All matches ended very close and luck changed from game to game.
I am still hearing the party that still continues on the streets. I enjoy that, because it can be over with every match now. Soccer became a very fast game (some coaches still haven't got that). One or two time quick mistakes can be the decicive moments to get the ticket towards home. |

Spain must have been having a siesta during the first half. Hope they wake up for the second half! 0-0 at HT.
----------------------------------------They did and won it 1-0. Paraguay were unlucky, they played good defensive football and created chances. I think if they had scored their penalty they would probably have won it. Also the Spanish players encroached during the Paraguay penalty! Even after Spain scored Paraguay had a good chance to level it, Unlucky. So Spain will Play Germany in the second Semi Final. On today’s performance Germany would be favourites, but Spain can play better than what we saw today. [Edit 1 times, last edit by skgiven at Jul 3, 2010 9:16:54 PM] |

Spanish commentator celebrates goal by convulsing Celebración de Camacho !!
----------------------------------------Spanish commentator and Real Madrid legend Camacho was so excited by David Villa's goal in Spain's 1-0 quarterfinal win over Paraguay that the overwhelming emotion made him convulse and appear to repeatedly hit himself in the face with his own microphone. That, my friends, is a man who cares. And I doubt he was the only Spaniard to react like that since Villa's goal puts his country in the World Cup semifinals for the first time ever. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 5, 2010 2:29:57 PM] |
