Re: The Influenza Antiviral Drug Search Crunching Chart

What has happen here? A couple of days ago there was not estimation date at all and the progress was indicating about 15%. And now the estimated finish date is in oct 09 and the progress is nearly 70%?
Has there been any changes to the volume of this project?

The researchers have identified 9 targets they wish to initially investigate. We are currently working on target 6 and 7 with most of 6 being completed. There has been talk of additional targets, but for now these are the most interesting. I believe the old estimate that was on Sek's charts dealt with the time it took to finish DDD-T phase 1 which was 2 years after it started. We did not know how many initial targets there would be. But now that we do, Sekerob has been very kind to update his charts with the changes known.

Now, I'm not saying there will be new targets in the future, but that there is a chance for more. Need to see what comes from the first 9.

Oh bother... just when I was beginning to 'catch up' in my quest for reaching Gold in all the possible projects, the goalposts move... Oh well, I'll just have to abandon my initial intention of getting HCC to Gold and concentrate on IADS instead - that is, once my small WU buffer has cleared biggrin

Re: The Influenza Antiviral Drug Search Crunching Chart

So it appears that FLU will be the next project to be completed, now that NRW has been pushed off into the future. Got to get going if I am going to get to 5 years.

How do you know this? How do I find out this stuff for myself? I kinda decided to play the badge chasing game but how will I know which projects are coming to an end? There seems to be no central point of information on the progress of each project. sad

EDIT OK I found Skerob's really useful chart.... Still rather disgruntled by the sudden change in end date though, no way will I get beyond Gold on this project now!

Not quite as surprised as I was... at least you've got Gold - I'm 54 CPU days away - and with just the 1 computer (albeit a dual-core), things could be a "little tight" if we see a similar rush as we did with DDD-T.

Really, what I'd benefit from, is another new project starting - as then that'd take the attention away from IADS tongue

I even considered "dumping" the small WU queue I had when I discovered the news, although thought better of it...

Re: The Influenza Antiviral Drug Search Crunching Chart

Yeah, I understand the frustration. All my badges so far have come about just by crunching any work units sent to me, but recently decided that targeting some to reach the next level would be fun. My little plan was concentrate on CEP then RICE. When these were over, I could revert to just crunching anything as everything had months, years even, before they finished.

Re: The Influenza Antiviral Drug Search Crunching Chart

Little plans... Same here.

WCG usually gets about 50%-60% of the cycles. After temporary increasing it to about 80% as to get the emerald CEP badge, I brought it back to 55%. For not even 1 full calenderday. Now it's again on 83% to get the sapphire in Flu. When that's reached, then it's back to "normal". I think. Hope. Assume. Unless another hard-to-beat deadline shows up.

Badges = Evil

They destroy carefully made plans... biggrin

Re: The Influenza Antiviral Drug Search Crunching Chart

Greetings, many have asked about the speed of the project. We will not be increasing the speed as was done with DDD-T phase 1. It will remain steady until the end.

Thanks,

Thanks very much for that info Uplinger - it'll give the 'slower' crunchers (such as I), a greater chance at achieving a Gold badge than if all the WU's were gobbled up by the monster crunchers biggrin
