How comes that validation stays pending for a '(long ?) while when WUs are sent with an initial replication of ... one ?
Other WUs are validated immediately after uploading the result in that case... |

Some tasks are double checked, to make sure all the results are valid.
Because this involves sending out an extra copy, sometimes after yours has been returned, validation can often take a little longer. |

It's just a validation waiting,.. In other projects, when a single copy is processed, it's valudated immediately after uploading. It's not an issue or a problem, I'd just like to undestand what happens and how the whole projet is working. Thanks for answers.. |

When you report a result, a flag is set for the workunit that causes it to be 'transitioned'. That means that the state engine checks to see if the workunit is ready to be advanced to the next state (in this case it would be advanced to the 'ready to validate' state). Unfortunately, there is some issue going on that is causing this flag to not be set. I have not been able to track it down.
We have a mechanism in place that will automatically advance a workunit once it is a certain age so your workunit will be eventually processed, however we are working on finding out what the cause of this particular problem is. The other comments above are correct - however, there is this additional problem that is also part of the system. |

I returned it on May 26th and my wingman on May 29th, and it's still PV. |

Yes we know to quote knreed too with highlight:

I have one of the 19th of May with complete quorum ;>)

Don't know the exact definition of "certain age", but took note of a few stuck in PV with minimum quorum completed and found they cleared exactly on expiration of the original deadline. I.e. a HCMD2 job received (and returned) on the 19th, cleared and changed to valid on June 2, having 14 day deadline. Maybe knreed could clarify the logic so we can put this we don't know why, but they WILL clear to bed.

If the workunit is older than 19 days, then it will start being 'transitioned' nightly until it completes.
I have written some queries to try to identify those results that are part of workunits that need to complete so that we could complete those workunits more quickly. Unfortunately, those queries are really tough and put significant load on the database. We will continue to work on this issue. |

Got two single quorum units in PV for 2 days now ... can these units be manually pushed to the next phase?
