When you get the "connection to host lost" message, this means that the initial connection was successful. It could still be a firewall, virus protection or spyware prevention software blocking the worldcommunitygrid agent from communicating. Have you tried disabling all of these? You think it could still be the network firewall blocking it? I figure if i can telnet through, the firewall doesn't know what program it is anyways so it should work both ways, and I can do secure connections through IE as well. I'm thinking it's the antivirus software. They're running Panda, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to disable it. It's like its a networked program or something. There's no disable option on the panda taskbar icon, just scan options. I've tried ending the process but it won't allow me. Is there something I can do or use to kill the thing for sure? It's gotta be the problem |

Hi Snipes Here is a link that may help http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1410 Graham, Thanks for all your help. It looks as though that gentleman is pointing out a problem in Panda that I am probably experiencing. I'd like to be able to disable it in order to test though. I wonder how you kill a program like this that doesn't have a menu or option to work with. There are multiple processes running from panda on the task menu.. probably 5-7 |
