I came close to hitting the scoreboard today, close but no cigar. I was 3 short on
results at 14,997 and just over 24K short on points at 7,475,616. Looks like Monday for results and Tuesday for points. |

MOT has moved up to Rank #217. Not long until we're in the top 200.

Hey all, good news. I just spoke to the head of Harvard Divinity's IT office and they're letting me have a bunch of old p4s for free. What does this mean?
1. mineral oil pc experiment is go 2. potential to start a small server farm (I'd want to run PS3GRID to maximize resources, the processors are not very fast I'm sure) on the Chaplaincy's tab 3. I may have spare pcs available (let me know if anyone is interested) |

I have 2 or 3 P4 processor chips if any one wants them. They came out of IBM ThinkCenters.

As far as processors go, I assumed they'd be useless. That's why I want GPU processing. I figure a HT P4 can feed an 8800GT which will put up respectable numbers. But first I want to see how hard it is and how stable the system remains. I'm going to do the most basic mineral oil build possible. Put all pc components in aquarium and dump mineral oil in. I'm not gonna bother to fuss with the cpu/heatsink at all. Whatever happens, I'm sure it will be an amusing test. |

Hopefully, your P4 motherboards have a PCIE slot for the video card and not AGP. That was the problem I ran into with my weather station.
