Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 35 smilesmile

I joined Lattice, but it doesn't look like they have any work to send out...

Yea, Lattice is not strong on regular work at all. Still, no harm being ready to take some when they do.

Lattice is a good project when it has work. Last decemebr they announced they would have a GPU project in the "near future". They started testing it in March and still no release. I think they are finding out that GPU is not plug and play like CPU. biggrin

GPU: Results were better for me. 8 completed and 1 failed (HIV). The (some) HIV jobs seem to fail until they go out to a GT2xx card and then they complete. GPUGrid continues to chase its tail. GDF admitted that "we only test on newer cards." It does not appear they want to put much effort into supporting 8 and 9 series cards. sad

That is unfortunate. However, the upside is that soon the 260 GTX will be as cheap as an 8800GT! And then there will be an even faster platform to replace it!

That should qualify us for a "Masters of Crunching" degree from Berkeley and they should have to pay our electric bills. laughing

Free electrons would be nice. It looks like I get to leave my laptop in the Chaplaincy office this summer, so free power for the laptop. But between my desktop and our air conditioners, our power bills are going to get ridiculous pretty quickly.
