[Snip] [Snip] ... Put all pc components in aquarium and dump mineral oil in. I'm not gonna bother to fuss with the cpu/heatsink at all. Whatever happens, I'm sure it will be an amusing test. If that works, that sounds like a great alternative to lots of things including the traditional liquid cooling. Please keep us up to date on how that works out. ![]() Will do. For the record, Mineral Oil is NOT CHEAP, at least when you figure you need 3-5 gallons of it. - D Yeah, not sure if I want to try a solid state and leave it in the oil (apparently they are sealed for life and are not compromised by the oil) or use a 7 year old 250 gig desktop drive duct-taped to the outside rear glass of the aquarium. |

I've shut down all but one card.

Since there is no way to opt out of it that is not acceptable. I'm trying 6.6.28/182.50 on one card. If that works, I'll gradually bring up the other 8. ![]() |

GPU: The combination of 6.6.28/182.50 or 181.20 is working so far. Rolling back to older drivers may be the solution for older cards. Could it be that nVidia is more interested in the sales of new cards than support of older cards?

The new guy on GPUGRID (rwgreen89, a friend of mine) is having a problem where it's only crunching on one card - he has two 260's and it was working at first. He wasn't sure of the version numbers he's running now, but the power went out when Vista was installing updates and he had to reinstall it. Since that was about a week ago, he may have installed 185.85. As it stands right now, though, he's only crunching on one card. Do you have your cards strapped with the SLI connector, or are they just independent cards?
