Anonymous, what would the CMD2 moniker stand for ;O)
----------------------------------------Snagged 1 on each device, so a good broad workout they'll get, quorum 2, replication 3. ![]()

To add and always having a second immediate interest is the Page Faulting, Delta there off and Kernel time. Well, totally utterly meaninglessly small. 3k PF cumulative after 40 minutes with 0.8 second KT.
----------------------------------------As for duration, that is hard to say as yet, but in fact having gotten 3 on 1 device, the progress % is quite variable: 1. 42 minutes and 6.6% progress 2. 33 minutes and 17% progress 3. 31 minutes and 6.0% progress CPU times, not elapsed (wallclock times) as the 6.6 clients are reporting these days. Memory use... I think I'm going to look and port it to my iPAQ , ![]()

These work units are known to vary. Some of the work units are too short to split up into about 7 hour work units. This means that you may see some that run really quickly but a majority of them should be around 7 hours.

Thanks, yes, one is now 70% after 2 hours and another at 21% after 2 hours.
----------------------------------------As for checkpoints, too many... somehow the field has 0 seconds (and this is *the* 6.6 client many have seen in their message log). Someone at Rosetta claimed the checkpoint log entries are made even when the "write at most" is set for a longer time frame. 4/15/2009 8:20:24 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed 4/15/2009 8:20:40 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed 4/15/2009 8:20:45 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed 4/15/2009 8:21:01 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed 4/15/2009 8:21:20 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed 4/15/2009 8:21:35 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed 4/15/2009 8:21:52 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed 4/15/2009 8:22:09 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed 4/15/2009 8:22:26 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed 4/15/2009 8:22:42 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed 4/15/2009 8:22:57 PM World Community Grid [checkpoint_debug] result BETA_CMD2_0001-1RKC_A.clustersOccur-2O72_A.clustersOccur_0_2 checkpointed Restarted with the 60 second interval and things behave again. The client with the 5 minute setting nicely follows the call rule and writes a checkpoint every 5 minutes, plus few seconds, confirming the science asks the client for permission.

Sounds like a small beta test. Will this new "anonymous" project have a larger beta test for more crunchers to have a chance to snag some more?
![]() I didn't get a beta for the "unnamed" project, but did pick one of the DDDT betas. It's estimated at 18 hours (but this is on one of my slowest machines) with a 2 day deadline. BOINC didn't put it at high priority so I suspended the job in front to force it to start just in case it takes a little longer. |

confirming the science asks the client for permission. Is it not more asking when starting or restarting for which interval it must respect? I seem to remember that a change while a task is running is not taken into account by this task? After your tests you probably can tell if it is still the same. Personally I hope so because it is less flexible but much more efficient than asking Boinc every time, particularly with such a checkpoint frequency as for this new project. Cheers. Jean. |

I've got one of these on my Windows 7 machine, but its not yet started to crunch, estimated at a mere 3.75 hours though.
----------------------------------------Also got two of the DDDT ones, one on my Vista box and one on the Windows 7 one. Neither of those have begun crunching either. ![]() |

The observation was to record the confirmation to myself and for other's who'd like to know, should they in present time read anything different, not more, not less.

I've got some Beta WUs for both projects on my Vista PC. They were automatically set to high priority.
