Nope, not your settings were wrong. See posts above yours for the answer. The tasks grew bigger than the techs allowed them to be.

So, should we abort the remaining WU's. It seems pointless to crunch when the results will be deemed in error anyway. I have mine on suspend awaiting an answer. I will crunch them if something will be learned from them. However, it appears that what can be learned from this batch has all ready been learned. I am running out of regular WU's to crunch, so I need an answer soon.

Thanks, Dan

Dan, I'm not sure when your result was sent to you but we have increased the size allowed for the work units last night and if yours was one that had the increase it should run to completion. If it still fails and you had the increased size, we will investigate further to reduce the file sizes. So please let your work unit crunch.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

So, if I recieved the WU in the beginning, it will error out (so abort it), but if I recieved the WU last night, then crunch it? If this is what you mean, all of mine were downloaded yesterday morning. So abort?

no reason to abort all that were sent yesterday morning...many have worked to completion, there have been a few troublesome work units. The workunits that were probably sent within an hour of the others that errored due to 131, you can abort those as new replicas will be sent with the increased size.

My result log does not show the typical error code 131 issue.
It is maybe something similar but its not the standard 131 error log
ErrorLogLink

There is something written about GetLastError 126 ?!

This is similar to the 131 error. It actually is that it reached this error before finishing the work unit and trying to transfer a file that was too large.

My WU just ended with the file size problem. Not sure if my copy was sent to me after the sizes were fixed so I am reporting this error.

How about the handling of all these error-wu's...???

Will the time and/or points be granted, or did they run "for nothing"...??? confused blushing worried

Wheew, this is a rough beta test. I am 0 for 5 on the HMD2's. The one I received this morning just comp errored with 23 seconds to go. sad It has the same 131 error code. Close but no cigar. wink

All my DDDT BETA's ran just fine. smile

Another one errored out at 100% after 9.27 hours of wasted runtime: click.

A further replication has been built and sent out.
You can guess bet it also will have an error 'output file exceeds size limits'.

EDIT
Additional info:
File size has been 29785260 bytes, limit for it was 13902608 bytes.

A bet you loose if the new results get a bigger size permission, but who knows is that bigger size still not big enough. I've never quite understood what with tightness on that parm. I'd figure that during beta one wants to know how big it can get and have that feedback and work with that information. Maybe a tech can explain.

Re: BETA 8, version 6.08, April 15, 2008, ANONYMOUS

Hi,
after the happiness resulting from receiving beta WUs, I experience the disappointment of two WUs in error (131) following several hours of computation sad .

BETA_ CMD2_ 0001-1UGK_ A.clustersOccur-2NR1_ A.clustersOccur_ 0_ 5-- kerdiwi03 Error 4/15/09 20:31:33 4/16/09 05:18:17 1.15 17.1 / 0.0
BETA_ CMD2_ 0001-PP1BA.clustersOccur-Q5U5U6.clustersOccur_ 0_ 1-- kerdiwi03 Error 4/15/09 15:44:23 4/16/09 08:12:27 7.19 107.2 / 0.0

Good luck by fixing the problem(s) !
Cheers,
Yves
