For some reason the new WUs on my computers have gross overestimates on the new B units. It's estimating 55 hours per unit on a computer that has completed the last few in around 9 hours and 17 hours on another computer that's around 10 hours. Apparently there is not rhyme or reason. Is there anything I can do or just let it run and work itself out? (The only reason I ask is because it's messing with my buffer) Just let it work out, the estimate will be updated when crunching the WU. The BOINC-client is a self learning thing. And there is no need to be afraid that it's going to mess up your buffer. ![]() Reading this required to put on the large and fashionable and dim the display.

We also have a few batches of type A work units that we are awaiting approval to release into the wild. -Uplinger Thanks for the warning. (I sincerely mean that - not trying to be a smart aleck.) I'm done with TCEP (aka The Energy Wasting Project) until I see that all the type A (maybe they should be called type E - for Error?) work units are done. edited for language...cih ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 27, 2009 1:21:25 PM] |

I have 14 Type B valid and 14 PV in my RS. Am only running on single core CPU. Hopefully the 17 IP Type B all go Valid. I have only seen one error that quit in .01 hours since the last restart.

Since the resume with 6.30 done 36, all validated but 7 in PV, all having an utter clean log, so experiences with this projects differ. Stock as always.

Gordoma, we'll have to accept that this is not a constant feed project yet. If the message in your log says "no work available for..." there is none in the hopper for the moment. The techs will look at any obstruction, should they exist.

Gordoma, we'll have to accept that this is not a constant feed project yet. Does that mean that this project will have a higher availability in the future? This batch only lasted about 3 days from what I can tell, after the last outage. I find that I get very few CEP WUs when I crunch them alongside other projects due to the lower priority, so I did have one PC dedicated to CEP to try and make a hit on it. When it runs out, it tends to download FAAH in preference to any other project and as I already have 4+ CPU years of time on that project compared to 50-100 days on other current ones, I'm keen to give more cycles to those projects that I haven't given much to so far. If the availability will improve in the future then I will leave any dedicated CEP crunching until then. |

Picked up about 15 today, so the conveyor belt seems to slowly have momentum.
----------------------------------------Not going to predict 'future higher availability'. It said project lasting 2 years, so am assuming they'll be around, as around as RICE and DDDT are at least. Low in the mix is just about right for me as they are in present release not good at concurrent processing on the devices I have. So, that allows setting a multi-mix without need to manually queue them for best performance. Since 6.30 a 100% score and the logs I checked all clean.

Does anyone else have a crazy percent of PV than average? I pulled 21 WUs on 3/19 and so far only 1 has validated ... it feels like someone is trying to make this project look bad by pulling WUs and then suspending instead of aborting or something like that
---------------------------------------- On the upside ... if you have a quick turn around machine ... there will be 20 more going into the queue shortly after 3/31/09 23:19:48 Steve [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 29, 2009 4:31:35 AM] |

Snow Crash,
I got a couple of HFCC WU's on 3/18 that have been waiting for the wingmen. They finally got sent out again after hitting the No Reply date. Also have a CEP that's been waiting since 3/21. Maybe some of the new people that joined the grid when HFCC was announced grabbed a bunch of miscellaneous WU's and are still trying to figure out how this all works. |
