Spam filters only work on e-mails, not Bulletin boards, anyone can post what they want on a bullitin board.

You want a reCaptcha for every post you make? No thanks as the number of spam posts is just totally and utterly insignificant, still after more than 4 years of WCG. Automated spammers wont get in anyhow.

No , what I remember is not so You posted abt the Teddies forum Alan a while ago in this respect , what was it It was not a spam filter. I keep the Teddies forum under strict control. Registrations are not automated, they have to be Admin approved. going back to the old United Devices forum we were all Moderators and any spam was immediately deleted by a Mod, there was at least one of us always logged in. Here at WCG the CA's are not the same as Moderators and they cannot do anything about spam, it all has to be reffered to the Adimins....not a very good solution as spam and obscene posts can be left on for hours.... |

The solution is to allow the CA's to delete them!

We don´t have sufficient CA's, and is a waste of time for them , Alan
----------------------------------------I am sure there must be something else to do, in a new forum , so it has been said [Edit 3 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 21, 2009 2:10:27 PM] |

Power corrupts, though mechanisms were proposed to get a second opinion, but at least move offenders out of view into an off-screen parking lot. 3 years CA and nothing changed. Seen protests too against these powers, so can't have yes can't have no, thus work within those restrictions.
