Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

I just pulled down 6 betas for CEP and two are getting nervous about the finish time and running as high priority, but the eta's on the 4 currently running are dropping quick so it shouldn't be more than an hour before they relax about meeting the completion time and are happy again. cool

Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

... we will have a small test for FightAIDS@Home and Dengue Fever (small change to some settings in header files to allow for some additional parameters in the workunits).

Do we need to have those specific projects enabled to receive beta for for them or are all betas considered equal in that regard?

It would seem not, the only project i have enabled is Help Fight Childhood Cancer and I snagged two CEP units today. A second showed up this evening on the machine listed above, both are crunching now, looking to have 3.5 hour runs as opposed to the 11 it first estimated.

The beta tests are completely separate from projects. If you accept beta WUs you may receive any beta WU for any project.
Anyway, except when a particular launch is difficult like CEP, most betas are not related to any project that you can select.

Cheers. Jean.

My 2 CEP Type A WU's are still running. It looks like they are going to run about 9h each. Much better than the original estimate which was 17.5h each. biggrin

Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

(I am about to start beta testing version 6.30 for CEP1)

Unfortunately, I've had one bomb already with the commonly reported error:

[ERROR] Failed to open either source or destination files while copying wcgrestart.rst to ../../projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/BETA_E000338_710A_00251g00s_1_3. Error: 2

Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

I picked up 3 CEP Beta 6.30 work units. All estimated 22h for time to completion. One is now running for 12.5h and estimation is down to 18.75h total.
I hope these do not all end in an error.
