Man I have some bad luck, 14 cores crunching WCG, and not one got a beta unit today.

While it sounded like there would be NEW betas today, I think the ones being talked about are repair WU from last Friday.

Repair is automatic and those are the once still being picked up reflected by the 6.10 version identifier... when I pick up a higher version I'll be the first to let everyone know (not before I've filled up the cache though) ;>)

I've decreased my cache's in anticipation of more beta units. :) Tho, if this is the project I believe it to be, I am even more eagerly awaiting its start. :)

Mine shows as Beta 6.10 on my Vista machine. Result Name Status Sent Time Time Due / Return Time CPU Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit BETA_ 00011271_ TrkB_ 0000_ 1-- In Progress 3/9/09 18:23:43 3/12/09 18:23:43 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 BETA_ 00011271_ TrkB_ 0000_ 0-- In Progress 3/9/09 18:23:25 3/12/09 18:23:25 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 If this is a repair WU, wouldn't it show 3 copies? Since both copies have a Sent Date of today, I thought I downloaded a brand new WU not a repair WU. Or am I mistaken? |

Suppose, a new beta batch could mean a set with different parms to test robustness further. Better now than after go live and saddle new arrivals with fawlty jobs... there's still good time.

Suppose, a new beta batch could mean a set with different parms to test robustness further. Better now than after go live and saddle new arrivals with fawlty jobs... there's still good time. There were some new work units that went out today. It was not as many as in previous runs for this project. The application stayed the same so no version change. The new work units would have BETA_0001* as their difference from the previous run (BETA_0000* or BETA_B20000*). The first run through beta Friday was very good so not many more needed to be run today. There were different parameters run through these work units to test out the estimator script. -Uplinger |

Thanks for the update. I guess I got extremely lucky today when I grabbed my one Beta WU. Haven't downloaded another one since then.
