OH, YOUR RED SCARF MATCHES YOUR EYES,
YOU CLOSED YOUR COVER BEFORE STRIKING,
FATHER HAD THE SHIPFITTER BLUES,
LOVING YOU HAS MADE ME BANANAS,

OH, YOU BURNT YOUR FINGER THAT EVENING,
WHILE MY BACK WAS TURNED,
I ASKED THE WAITER FOR IODINE,
BUT I DINED ALL ALONE,

OH, YOUR RED SCARF MATCHES YOUR EYES,
YOU CLOSED YOUR COVER BEFORE STRIKING,
FATHER HAD THE SHIPFITTER BLUES,
LOVING YOU HAS MADE ME BANANAS.

I went looking for him all I found was this note In his vestibule

Hi there...........
Sorry guys there's no truth in the rumour that the Ruskies spirited me away.... biggrin

What a facinating enjoyable day we had!, we set off in a 1940s Double decker bus, an experience in itself, along the A5 to Bletchley, top speed 42mph, seemed like 90mph, a real white knuckle ride, fantastic fun!.
On arrival we were met by a chap who was to be our guide for the day,
We entered one of the huts and were given a History lesson on how the site became Britains best kept secret.
We were then taken around to see how each hut had had it's own operational facility and to view some of the various pieces of equipment
that was used to crack the German codes, the highlight of the day was to see the ENIGMA machine still working. Incredibly all the machines were ordered to be destroyed at the end of the war but fortunately some survived. One area had been set aside as a tribute to Sir Winston Churchill, a collection of memorablia that was a life time collection of one man, now in his late 80's he was there to proudly show us and explain his connection to Sir Winston, wonderful stuff!.
There was also the usual wartime bric a brac scattered around each of the huts including a mock set up of a german W11 signal station.
An absolutely facinating fun filled day that I would recommend to all. applause

Re: Re:

Just for Den........... biggrin devilish

As I was coming down the stair
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today
I wish that man would go away!

I eat my peas with honey
I’ve done it all my life
It makes them taste quite funny
But it keeps them on the knife!

Mary had a bionic cow,
It lived on safety pins.
And every time she milked that cow
The milk came out in tins.

I never saw a purple cow.
I never hope to see one.
But I can tell you anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one!

Take care

he-he, Sage
Good Morning!
Little dotty clouds on blue sky and no wind to disturb the feathers of blackbirds catching worms on the wet, soft grass ...

Re: Re:

Morning all you early Birds, busy catching the worms devilish
****************************************

I hear today that the applications for tickets to watch Eursain spellin? Bolt run the 100mtrs actually exceeded 1 million!! Yes ONE MILLION!!
Some folks it would seem will be unlucky. The stadium has 40,000 seats 20,000 allocated to corporate sponsors/spongers/VIP's What ever happened to altruism .
Nothing wrong in sponsorship to get a mention in the programme, logos on running kit, or placards around the venue.

Pierre de Coubertin
This Bloke is spinning in his Grave

Of course The ethic of the Games is now changed & has become very commercial

Extract from Olympic ethical rules
There are often certain conditions which will be attached to the allocation of tickets. One of the most important conditions is that they ensure that the tickets are provided to individual supporters from the country or territory which they represent.

So as I read that, the general sporting followers should be given priority. Seats Left after this criteria has been filled. Okay, then , Give some to the Sponsor .

I know, I know,I know, get real 'snaps .

Have to go now. Mr Harris, said I can only come out If I didn't stand on my soap box and upset people.I dont mind, My room is nice and cosy with the nice padded Walls devilish
