Not wasting time with a trip to Sainsbuggers , Wickes or B&Q
----------------------------------------I have paid for this and I'm going to enjoy it ![]() Watching the wedding build up , just seen a Roller trickling down the Mall on the way to pick up the bride its the one with the glass roof all round view of occupants . It does look terribly dated very high ride height, It maybe will go into the royal carriage collection as have the horse drawn vehicles . Quite amusing at the Abbey where the guests are being booked in showing their invites Just incase some minor celeb tries to sneak in . Earl Spencer and his Partner Who is wearing a huge tittfer pity any body sitting behind her,it must be 2ft across. The Ladies having a good time sorting through the dressing up box for weird hats Going for large overstated??? Think girls , big brims cover face force you into funny stance unless carefully positioned . Then we have the tippy ones perched on the front of the head (super Glue) or strong 'lastic & hair pins notably Par ra tarma pratkinson in Electric blue Boat shaped concoction. Mrs " Posh" Beckinham more restrained in a darker blue But still looking as if its about to fall off . Hubby David wearing an odd shirt and badly tied tie decent hair cut tho and sporting his OBE . Sam Cameron, Hubby Dave Cant afford a Hat for her ?It used to be that a lady didnt go into church without a Hat even if it was only a head scarf The Bride looked a cracker her head dress /veil was much like the queen mum wore at her wedding ... High light was the Battle of Britain memorial flight....... great sound those merlins make ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by densnaps at Apr 29, 2011 5:10:59 PM] |

Evening all
After the supermarket run I too watched the box catching up with things as the Bride arrived at the Abbey. The theatre that is the service taken to this height cannot be but enjoyed for the sheer pleasure. And, when it comes to the trip back to Buck House, it's good to be reminded about how good we are in the planning and execution of these highly complex State occasions. A neighbour friend, who is a sound engineer with the BBC was tucked somewhere in the route which reminded me of how many had a busy working day instead of a Bank Holiday. No Street parties around here but very little movement in the Streets told you that the tellies were taking a pounding. Here, we have a bulb planting session with the Village Association to add to all the planters. Her, who must be obeyed, has issued a three line whip so I can't hang around in bed tomorrow. Fish pie for dins tonight. We're not catholics so this is of no religious significance, merely the evening meal following the weekly shop. |

Further to my remarks about transport. The "old RR Limos " are truly in good nick I wonder what the mileage on them is? not all at procession speed I'm sure, they have to get to far flung corners of Uk I think the more elderly ones stay down sarf
----------------------------------------The Jaguar that transported Princess Alexandria when she visited us two weeks ago was one from the royal fleet I spotted it today 'cause I had taken the reg number. She flew into Blackpool and then attended her duties from the jag . So someone had to get it up here and back The Coaches, Carriages,Landau's & Phaetons we saw today in concours condition As I suppose they have to be with the eyes of the world upon them the horses and riders match in splendour. You should remember that these soldiers from the Household Cavalry are not just tricked out every day in smart glitzy uniforms but have only recently returned from duties in Afghanistan. **************************** Ps Belated Happy birthday Evy......... ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ PPS; Din Dins, roast smoked Gammon joint, new potatoes and carrots and like Tony I also had Marmite toast this morning for Breakfast . When ever I have Marmite I recall when Working in a garage. The fella who worked on the ramp doing oil changes. Every day he bought in two slices of toast with Marmite. This was pre Tupperware so he had it wrapped in newspaper which he read as he ate ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Apr 29, 2011 6:53:09 PM] |
