Re: Keep your feeders topped up

Good moaning all.........

Misty and damp here in the midlands sad

Took no1 grandson to a Motorbike training center this am, 7hrs of training and then hopefully he'll be competent enough to ride on the road!!? I've warned him that it's other road users he needs to worry about!. Bought himself a scooter for running back and forth from college, It'll save me a small fortune, I'm the one taking and picking him up.

Have a good day all........ good luck

Re: Keep your feeders topped up

Morning each, Surprise early call from Ivan Were sharing the sun today great to see it.
Tony reading the text in your post I misread it as a 7 years course !!!

Its good that he's being taught the correct way to ride although I think it's now a mandatory course I see on the local roads Learner riders in company of a experienced tutor Rider in radio contact.
Safe riding on a bike you need to be visible to other road users not lurking in the rear quarters of cars in their blind spots make sure you can see the vehicles mirrors if you cant see them the driver cant see you.
Always wear the safety Equipment Gloves and sensible footwear
a wet road or a diesel spillage can have you on your backside in a flash even at slow speed, skinned hands through not wearing gloves easily saved.

Re: Keep your feeders topped up

Wise words Den, I guess, 'like me', you talk from experience! I have many scars, 'the knees in particular' from coming a cropper on wet roads. The worst scar that I have however, is across my shoulder and back, it was torn open by another biker that rode out of a oneway street and slammed into me!. He had no insurance or licence, it took two years to get a compensation of just £200 ...... sad

Take care in whatever you do ......

Re: Keep your feeders topped up

Good artnoon all....

Great piccy's Den, I remember the Velocette, a water cooled engine, you couldn't hear it approach, the local village bobby 'Ginger' rode one of these and would often catch us out scrumping biggrin
Pity,as you say, that you didn't keep all your bikes, there worth a kings ransom these days! I'm hoping to win a 1960 Triumph Speed Twin in a draw for the Army Benevolent Charity!, It's worth a couple of grand!!. It's on display at The Anglia Motel, A17 Fleet Hargate, PE12 8LT www.angliamotel.co.uk
Tickets are £5 the draw takes place 31st December 2012. Wish me luck!! good luck
