I made the changes to the hosts file, rebooted and ... the uploads still fail

Sadly none of the suggestions helped me. I'm stuck with the HTTP error messages.

After another WU (11 hours) was stuck while uploading today, I decided to suspend the project for now....

I am also unable to upload WU's I tried rebooting everything still nothing

Please do not become hopeless !
If nothing help, you can try to uninstall BOINC and to reinstall again the same version of BOINC.
I know the situation is very unsatisfying but all of us have to fight from time to time against fuzzy problems.
After 4 years of active participation, it would be very unlucky to discourage so much and to resign.
