It's been days now and I still can not upload from one machine to worldcommunitygrid.org. The upload process starts and it uploads 48.85K and then stops. This happened once before when worldcommunitygrid.org had issues and their tech support was useless at fixing the issue.

I had this same problem once. All I had to do was reboot the computer. hopefully this will fix it.

Same for me. The latest attempts (forum link) didn't resolve the issue for me I'm afraid. I've got some 32 hours of work on 2 machines unable to upload. It's been sitting there for about 5 days. Rebooting helped me in the past, but not this time.
----------------------------------------I hope they figure it out. And I hope these results won't be counted as 'too late' when they finaly get uploaded. ![]() |

I guess there's no way to transfer those results to my home computer (which also runs Boinc) and upload the results from there, or is this possible?

Hello everybody,
----------------------------------------since some weeks (still using boinc 5.8.45), I experienced regularly similar problems ; in the past only very rarely. Some times just rebooting does not help very much. In the worst case, you have to select each WU separately and to force the upload WU after WU. It is a little bit boring and disturbing, especially if you are not close to the hosts (e.g. host in the office and you are business traveling for several days ).I don't have any idea about the reason for this problem. Indeed boinc does not see internet connection anymore (even if remote access from one host to the other is still possible using boinc manager), and at the same time, you are able to go to the web. Finally, it is really crazy ! I know, my poor contribution does not really help. But it is always interesting for the other to know that they are not alone with such fuzzy problem. Cheers, Yves |

Hi all,
----------------------------------------I've placed on all my clients in the hosts file, 3 lines that point the WCG URL's to the right IP addresses: 198.20.8.241 grid.worldcommunitygrid.org 198.20.8.246 www.worldcommunitygrid.org 198.20.8.246 secure.worldcommunitygrid.org The file is usually write protected, so the attrib needs to be changed before editing. The hosts file is located in the windows\system32\drivers\etc directory and usually already contains a line referencing for instance 127.0.0.1 localhost, which BOINC by default uses to communicate between BOINC Manager (BOINCmgr.exe) and BOINC core client (BOINC.exe) It's an ancient way of doing it, but gives me the trust that BOINC only goes to these internet IP's and nowhere else. After editing change the attrib back to Read only. As for KerSamson, get 6.2.28. That one allows you to select multiple lines and execute a command with a single button operation. cheers PS: Hosts has no extension. When saving make sure that it remains so! And yes, a soft boot may be required to effectuate the change.
