I finally got some work units for this project and the first two both returned errors. This is what the log file recorded:

Am suddenly starting to get errors on this project. Don't seem to have had any up until the 18th of April, bar those due to the project not being compatible with BOINC 5.2.x.
----------------------------------------16 errors are logged since April 18th, all bar 2 on multi core machines, none of which use Vista. 2 were logged on a single core P4 machine 2GB RAM with no multi threading running XP SP3: E000499_901A_003a71013 - Error 0x1d E000510_372A_003d7100a - Error 0x1d The system does have antivirus (as do all systems I use), no other 3rd party processes would access the project data directory. If this is a file locking issue then this is the only project I run that suffers from it. /Gurra ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Gurra at Apr 22, 2009 8:09:21 AM] |

Hello Gurra,
If you look in Beta Test Announcements Forum ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=25306 ) you will see this post by knreed on 21 April about a recent beta test dealing with error 0x1d (error 29). So these errors are getting a response. Lawrence |

I hope the error code (0x1d) - exit code 29 (0x1d) has been fixed, becasuse I have lost over 30 hours of CPU time in the last couple of days due to this error. It was on both Intel and AMD machines running Vista, XP, and Win2k.

Hi Lawrence,
----------------------------------------Looking at my 2 0x1d errors on the single core machine, one of them is a persistent one which appears to have been tested in the beta (everyone got 0x1d), the other one is not (mine is the only machine that got 0x1d). File locking seems to be a likely theory, for the latter anyway, especially since none of the linux machines I use, multi core or otherwise, are experiencing it. /Gurra Edit: Hmm - just got 0x1d on a single core Linux machine, wu E000509_756A_003d6i00o, CEP client 6.30. A second machine has completed processing on this wu, pending validation. Could this be a persistent error wu with a fix in client 6.31? ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Gurra at Apr 22, 2009 3:01:15 PM] |
