Re: Still producing errors

All my CEP tasks, a 222 so far, gone valid on Vista SP1 and XP SP3, so I'm not understanding why this always happens to the others. Max memory and disk permissions is what my settings are as CEP can grow big.

Good for you. Please let us know your setting (if done before, please repeat or point to thread).

I've stopped micromanaging so in a number of cases 2, 3, 4 ran simultaneous putting substantial stretch on memory and vm interaction.

Re: Still producing errors

I got this exit code 29 on one of my CEP WU's last night. Running BOINC 6.2.28 on VISTA 32-bit laptop.

Doesn't CEP still have some lingering errors on Vista & C2D systems? I stopped CEP from running on any of my C2D machines some time ago and have had no errors in a couple of months.

Re: Still producing errors

Whatever is lingering, see my previous post, nothing on my multi core devices but elevated PF and kernel time. Even the claims/ credit ratio is within margin.

Re: Still producing errors

Almost forgot, reported on the Dev forum. It seems that a client trying to talk to an unreachable project is even under client 6.6.23 alpha still causing hickups. Had yesterday reoccurences, with HFCC jobs right when the client checked with an off-line projects. Got a series of zero status during the time. My general practice is to take a intermittent/periodic DC project into suspend, was just checking to see if they had some work to test the alpha. If I know WCG is or goes offline, I suspend communication completely. Saves cycles too.

Re: Still producing errors

I looked back thru my old posts and this is the second time that I've reported this exit code 29 error. I keep an eye on my crunching and usually report any errors that I get.

I've crunched around 160 CEP WU's (including the ones in PV right now) usually running 2 at a time and over 500 WU's for the other WCG projects. If it's a security problem, wouldn't I be getting this error more often?

Re: Still producing errors

I crunched about 50 CEP till now and never got an error afaik, but today I got 2 WUs with errors.
They ran on different hosts and produced different errors. Those who crunched them too got the same error.

edit: ok sorry they both got the same error. At first I just looked at the message but it seems the different boinc versions have different messages for the same error code. Could this problem be solved by using the newest boinc version?
