We are now at 72,492,883 for the year. That's 7,507,117 to go in 26 days to hit 80 million or 288,735 per day. We need about another 20K points a day. OK fine... I'm coming back to WCG. Probably to the detriment of my Boinc Stats, but Blizzie was going to catch me anyway. Uh, won't you just be getting more WCG credits and less QMC credits? I thought PS3GRID was GPU only? QMC grants more points per hour than WCG and both are humanitarian. But my real loyalties are to WCG and MOT. I'm going to have a hard time catching up to you.. Winter Break is coming and I don't think I want to video card crunch at home. But..... I'll leave my CPUs running for MOT. |

Hey Blizzie, got an ocing question for you. My q6600 refuses to OC higher than 2.95 and remain stable. I don't really mind since that is a pretty substantial overclock, but I'm wondering if it makes sense to consider buying one of those core2quad 9550s. They run at close to 3 ghz stock so I'm wondering what I can expect to get if I overclock.

You're not overclocking your Quad right. ![]() ![]() And you could.. for a new system, but not to replace your Q6600. That would be a utter waste of money. It is better, but it's not enough to dish out $300 for it. |

What should I set my vcore to? And also, I'm ocing my 8800GT. Gotta stay ahead as long as I can! But seriously, you're going to get me. Until I get a Nvidia 280. Be afraid. |

Set your vcore to 1.38v and the Quad at 3.0 GHz. See if that will do it. If not, try 1.4v. You might have to bump up your Northbridge/Southbridge voltage. Look up your RAM on manufacturer's website. Set the voltage and timings for it according to the manufacturer. Don't run it on Auto. Edit: In my opinion 280 GTX is not worth the money.. It only gets 10% or so performance over the 260 GTX for $100 more.. I'm going to be updating the BIOS on my C2D over break.. Then stress test so.. Should I just wait or not do it and crunch so we hit our goal? [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Dec 7, 2008 10:14:23 PM] |
