Drives me nuts! C'mon, Jonathan -- we know you don't have to drive that far You're right about the 10 seconds. I am uploading my nearly 20 second clip for it that says nothing much. Here is my clip. Pretty lame. Not at all. I liked it. You can't do much high res video in <10 meg. Is there a prohibition on mentioning the team name? ![]() I didn't see any rules other than size. I figured with that resolution, it wasn't worth getting my camcorder out and I used my webcam. Wonder if they are going to edit out profanity like in the forums -- lol Like, "Hey you bunch of lazy, <bleep>. Get off your <bleep> and join WCG you worthess bunch of <bleep>." ![]() http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=22229 It says in the form of a 30 second clip. ![]() Video Requirements 1. Duration: About 10 seconds 2. Video dimension: 640 x 480 3. File size: < 10MB 4. File formats: .MOV, .MPEG, .MPG, .WMV, .ASF, .AVI (including .DivX), and MPEG4 (.MP4) (30+10)/2 = 40/2 = 20 DM wins. ![]() Make a video that incorporates all of MOT. If that's legal. ![]() Maybe I should submit this. Dave, go right ahead! I got e-mailed about this from WCG too. No webcam but I do have a camcorder. Unfortunately, I've yet to sort out the probably simple process of downloading that to the PC and whatever from there. I'm not sure even 30 seconds is enough time to do it justice. Part of me sorta suspects they want to take real short clips from different folks to make some sort of "man on the street" testimonials. I have to wonder just how much this sort of thing actually accomplishes. Still, video has it's place and uses.Keith -- It is also submitted. I probably have a head start on you since I have been playing with my camcorder, YouTube, etc. all summer just for something to do. If your camcorder didn't come with software for loading to your PC, Windows Moviemaker will do it for you. |

Also, I think we would benefit from building up our participation at these other projects first before we get too spread out. Founder change has been made. It's a good project. Me thinks you are making too much work for yourself. Maybe 17 projects but there is no one in 16 of them but Jonathan, you and I. MOT will need flexibility if we are to continue to grow. I'll continue to "spread out" as new projects come online. But I'll send you an email as I can always route the credits to SC. Still looking for my video thinking cap. ![]() ![]() |

And maybe I am but I like doing things once and right the first time. Yes, I'm demanding of myself. Nothing new there. Also, I have to treat each of the projects equally. If someone comes along interested in one of our other projects but sees it getting the short shrift to WCG, that doesn't send an encouraging message. Every member is important. Also, I don't want to grow our other projects at the expense of WCG either. What I need to do is start walking the walk of some of the talking I've done. Unfortunately, I've had to spend time focusing on keeping my job these last several months among other things. Yes, it's frustrating for me too. Sorry folks. I owe you better than what you've been getting. |

Also, I don't want to grow our other projects at the expense of WCG either. Then make it easier on yourself and have MOT just be a WCG Team. You can’t have both. I didn’t mean to create discourse at MOT but there are a lot of good projects out there. There is too much focus in the DC world on credits and not results & projects. But something has to keep one interested. I can always find a place to dump credits. Sorry folks. I owe you better than what you've been getting. Bullsh!t. You do and have done an excellent job. Long May You Run MOT. Well, good night and good luck MOT. ![]() ![]() |
