Great pictures, frans6nl. Thanks. He had a note that reads:

"Hi, in the "forum"-section on the left ist now also an english-speaking discussions-board available. I will translate the whole site into english tomorrow."

I'm going back tomorrow. Hopefully he will have the translation done.

You guys have to see these pictures.

Re: CPU Temperature

Hey Frans that's cool

The Dutch are more famous for the planting of their aquariums isn't that the case?

Re: CPU Temperature

hahahaha - did he use the gold fish to coat his connectors because they seemed to have disappeared....

The issue of PCs and specifically CPUs running too hot seems to be an all time favorite. I have just completed some research on the topic and decided to share one of the most interesting findings that I discovered.

I am not in any way suggesting that this is the one and only solution to all heat related problems, but definitely the best starting point before investing into "special heat sinks" and drilling numerous holes and stuffing fans all over your case.

Have a look: http://www.short-media.com/review.php?r=230

We all have our own little favorites on how to do things; however these guys have spent some time and measured and quantified the results of becoming a fan FAN! ......
Very non-intuitive results!

Nice article and quite informative. cool

A question remains. How important is temp to idle? It would appear to me that for crunching or gaming purposes, max cpu and mb temps would be the 2 that really count. Ergo, the best configuration would be the one that maximizes these two value sans other results?
