this thread has nothing to do with rice-crunching.
it belongs in the chat section. another recent thread similarly belonged in suggestions/feedback. i feel sorry for the poor rice scientists who may accidentally be reading this irrelevant material. |

Dear Members,
----------------------------------------Please remember, you may state your opinions, but you may not personally attack another member, country or individual. You may not use inappropriate language. Just for everyone's information, all of our project launches have been released with auto "opt-in", so this is not a new feature to our program. As stated previously, we will review the auto "opt-in" feature prior to our next project launch. Thank you all for your contributions! Tedi To loonym, we are all here crunching to help you and all of our loved ones! [Edit 1 times, last edit by TKH at May 18, 2008 1:36:25 PM] |

I can understand your interest in cancer, but one thing I don't understand is why are you comparing it to rice? I understand you are dying, I understand you care about your daughter, but what about those who will never live old enough to get a cancer? What about those who are dying because there is nothing to eat? I don't have cancer, I don't even know anyone who has cancer, but that doesn't stop me from participating in cancer projects, **** Do you really wan't me to stop working on cancer just because I don't have any personal connection to it? Do you really want everybody to focus on their own problems? If you wan't my support, don't try to take that away from people who are dying because there isn't enough rice. You are all people, nothing more, nothing less. You are all important. If you say those people are not worth it, then I****.**Edited for intolerance** There are tons of killer diseases. I wish there were more medical projects. World hunger really sucks and I'm sure it's a great project that hopefully will help lots of under developed countries. I ran the betas because I think it helps them write better code for all the projects, present and future, and at some point I may have elected to run the rice units if they hadn't loaded me up with them without me wanting them at this point. Am I frustrated? Sure. I joined wcg to work on medical research projects ONLY!You work on the projects you want and I'll work on the ones I want, sound fair? Let's hope it will work that way at wcg in the future. [Edit 2 times, last edit by TKH at May 18, 2008 2:02:28 PM] |

My friend, sometimes we have to understand that the internet doesn't carry across the passions and feelings we wish to express. Add into that all the different inteligence levels and the manner in which some people were brought up and you start to see the why's of some of these comments. I have found in this life that there are essentially two groups: The givers and the takers. Generally in the DC world you find a vast majority of the "giver" type of people but unfortunately you also get with that great group of people a few that are best described as trolls as we've seen in a few posts here. Those people are to be ignored as in the greater view of life they are worthless people who live unhappy lives and whose only desire is to make others unhappy also. One will never be able to have a rational discussion with them as they aren't looking for knowledge but only to incite emotions in others. Once you accept that premise you learn to ignore them and put them in that little grouping of people whose comments you ignore. Then you get the people who in their comments you see true love and understanding such as we saw here from Olivia. You see from them a human understanding of your situation in life. The bottom line is that love matters and hate doesn't and we ignore the haters we meet in this lifetime. ![]() |

I raised this last time they did this and they don't care. They pointed to a survey they conducted in one thread where only 20% said they had a problem with it.
