Hey Blizzie, I just OCed to 2.7 ghz. I set my FSB to 300 and let it start up - no problems. Seems to run somewhat cool still (jumped from 40C to 50C, which is still reasonable). I didn't change the vcore at all (left the setting on AUTO) but it seems reasonably stable. I'm testing it tonight at 2.7ghz running WCG on full processor usage to make sure it's good to go. Thanks for the tips!

FSB now set to 315 making the cpu run at 2.835ghz per core. core at 1.344v. Temps seem stable around 58C. |

RMAing my Ballistix RAM for the 2nd time now.. -.- Maybe it's time to change brands. There's been a number of unsatisfied Ballistix customer posts at NewEgg. So the story goes. I got a set of normal Ballistix to go with my Tracers. But they were single sided. FIrst set was bad. RMAed.. $10 shipping -_- Then 2nd set wasn't compatible with my double sided Tracers. So I called Crucial and thet said they'll send me a double sided but I have to pay shipping to send the single sided to them.. So yea.. Waste of my money. If someone made me pay to ship their mistakes back to them, I'd sure take my business elsewhere. It's one thing if you order the wrong part to begin with but if they shipped defective product and the wrong product, any decent respectable business would pay return shipping. We all hear and talk about how bad customer service is these days. It's that bad only because we tolerate it. I haven't done business with American Express in 25 years now all because of their comedy of errors with a screw up of theirs that had nothing to do with my credit card. Over those 25 years, I've told a LOT of folks about it and how I finally had to refuse to hang up and wait on another call back that would never come to get to talk to someone who actually fixed the problem. I've still got plenty of years left too (I hope) to keep telling folks about it. Over those 25 years, they've lost a lot of business from me alone not to mention anyone else I may have influenced. Our hard earned money doesn't come easy and anyone that wants my business needs to understand and respect that. Bad customer service? Don't get mad, get even. |

I'll spend $100 to get even with a company that screwed me out of $10. Good morning MOT. ![]() ![]() |

I've backed the processor back down to 2.4 ghz just because I don't want to deal with the heat in summer, but as soon as things cool down, I'm going to shoot for a stable 3.2-3.4 ghz. OCing is fun, but scary for noobs like me. I might buy a new CPU cooler for my alienware 3.6 ghz and try to hit the magic 4 ghz mark on air cooling.
