smile Re: New FAAH assignment taking a long time

Regarding the updated statistics, the average time for an FAAH WU has increased... It's now at 10.35 hrs. per WU...

And I have the feeling, that it will increase even more the next days, when the WU's from the slower mashines will be received.

Never the less, let's bite the bullet, and when we finished crunching the FAAH-XXL-WU's, everything will be fine, and no one will talk about this matter again... smile

P.S. Somehow my boincstats have messed up... I managed to have a unique cross-ID, but now the WCG has fell out... crying Maybee, because I don't calc for the other projects anymore...

Did you change e-mail for one of them?

Make e-mail the same on all projects and you will get the same new cross-project ID for all. BOINC Synergy is one that uses cross-project ID. Wait for the new one to propagate and post it over there on the graphics generator page.

No, I didn't change anything at all... That's why I am so confused. My Mail-Adress is everywhere the same!

The even more strange thing is, that my cross-ID here in WGC and my profile in boinc-stats is identical. But in the stats of the user "totto73" (which i I only use for WCG, because I couldn't use "totto" tired ), where my correct stats for WCG are shown, I have a totaly different cross-id... shock

Anyone maybee an idea??? thinking

EDIT: Now WCG is back in again... What the **** is happening there...???

Re: New FAAH assignment taking a long time

Now this is strange... My last three results from FAAH have finished ever so quick...

Are these WU's from a newer series... I received them yesterday, and they take less than 5 hrs. for completion... confused

Re: New FAAH assignment taking a long time

Sekerob,

Thanks for your suggestions on running cooler in the summer. I will look into Threadmaster when I get a chance.

FYI, the machine I am concerned about is running:
Windows XP SP2
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4 GHz)
2 GB DDR2 DRAM
100% CPU setting in BOINC (v5.10.45)

It has a small desktop case and probably isn't cooled as efficiently as the same configuration in a larger case would be.

Re: New FAAH assignment taking a long time

steveleg,

Yes, with this set-up the Threadmaster is your ticket. The first time I used if was on a SFF computer (Small Form Factor, Shuttle). With the FAQ and a few short cuts on the start bar, switching percentage per science is a 1 minute action.

No, I didn't change anything at all... That's why I am so confused. My Mail-Adress is everywhere the same!

It's simple: The CPID used to consolidate all the projects is always in search of the oldest active project attached to a client. Takes sometimes 1-2 days to realign again, but long as the email address is identical, all will roll up, eventually. The email address from which the CPID is computed is case sensitive, thus ideally keep it simple and always type them in in small.

The question is, why does it disalign, when I don't change anything...? tired

Have you found something out concerning the 5 hrs. FAAH WU's?

Re: New FAAH assignment taking a long time

Detaching, a few comms with a project that had an older CPID on record, re-attaching, suspending project, all sorts. I don't worry about it as it always comes back long as at least 2 active projects are attached to each of the hosts you run under 1 email address and at least 2 common projects are attached amongst hosts.

5 Hours FAAH on a speed-demon? Possible the shorter versions are now coming out the feeder. Seen no post to confirm that.
