Actually, Nunavut is fairly recent. It was all part of the Northwest Territories not that many years ago. I'd have to look up the exact year.


Well, if Texas decided to split in half, you'd never hear the end of it down here. House wouldn't really change but which party got the two new Senators would be hotter than WWIII! Y'all split off half of the Northwest Territories for the Inuit to be autonomous (not sure to what degree) and nada.

Well, before you can have a scuffle, you need people. Texas has tons where Nunavut has very few. Just as a comparison...

Area in sq mi.........Texas - 269,000 Nunavut - 800,000
Time zones............Texas - 2 Nunavut - 3
Population.............Texas - 21,000,000 Nunavut - 31,000
Largest city...........Texas - 2,150,000 Nunavut - 6200
Highways in miles..Texas - 85,000 Nunavut - 510

Lots of available space up there, but one has to be quite hardy to live.
Not an area where time shares would be profitable.
