Re: no work, quota of 3 reached????

Suggest you try again with a proper BOINC release and not a home compiled version of a pre-alpha development. Try 5.10.42 which can be had for most all common platforms in 32 and 64 bits.

Re: no work, quota of 3 reached????

This means you have been returning too many errors. Usually, it means something is wrong on your computer.

And in your case, the cause is simple: you are using a decidedly dodgy build of BOINC. Please switch to the recommended official build.

This is why we don't recommend using hacked clients; you may have been wasting your computer time for a while, now.

Re: no work, quota of 3 reached????

Yes, this doesn't change your quota.

You will have to wait until tomorrow for more work, and as you return valid results, your quota will increase.

Your work is probably being marked "Invalid". This only affects you.

Re: no work, quota of 3 reached????

dude i dont meen to sound cocky but,,,'

i have crunchrs boinc running on my vista machine and its kickin butt...

no errored results,,, no nothing but work, Q6600 Vista 64 bit, 4 gig DDR2 PC 6400 800mHZ ram.

my xp pro 64 bit machine has a AMD 5200+ x2 am2, 2 gigs PC 6400 800Mhz ram.... has no problems anywhere else.... been kickin major butt. clocked to 3 gigs..... and its now running the latest Boinc.

so if crunchrs app works fine on one machine, should work on all.

hell i was just in the last race you had and SETI.USA kicked butt,,, same crunchrs app both machines.

no problem,, ill wait till tomarro and see what happens. crunchr builds good apps,,, nothing shady about them.

Re: no work, quota of 3 reached????

I will be blunt: you are deluding yourself if you think using a different BOINC build makes any difference. The only difference it may make is to the claimed credit, which is why crunch3r's effort is considered by many to be an attempt to cheat. As a result, such non-standard builds have a very poor reputation around here.

Anyway, we don't support non-standard builds. It's not practical to do so. If you want to continue using a non-standard build, you are on your own if anything goes wrong - whether it is caused by the build or not.

In your case, it was a non-standard build of a pre-alpha release! If it works it is purely by accident.

If you are overclocking, then it may well be that your problem wasn't caused by the client, but by your unstable system. But we have to rule out the client first.

Do you know how to check your results for invalid results?
