Hello breathesgelatin, The policy is not set in stone, but we currently plan to keep the same badge through all phases. HPF2 is not a precedent because it is sponsored by a different research organization than sponsored HPF. So internally it was always treated as a new project. Lawrence Thanks so much for answering my question! |

Congratulations Thorson! Thanks! Where do you set the polling interval? I meant the "Connect to network about every ... days" setting in the device profile. Does the time spent crunching a WU count towards a badge as soon as the WU has been returned or when it has been validated? I'm pretty sure that the crunching time does not count until the WU is validated. But I am not sure if invalid results are counted also towards the badge. Greetings Thorsten |

Yes I have item (a sun) for this project with my only two units completed by my computer.
The time requested for obtain item is now only 1 day CPU time for this project. It's good, 14 days for this project is impossible without thousands of machines. And sorry for my very bad english |

It's good, 14 days for this project is impossible without thousands of machines. 14 days was a tough challenge, but I did it with only one machine! Unfortunately, looking back now, I could have saved a lot of effort if I had known about the relaxtion to 1 day before. Now it should be very easy to get the badge. You should need only about 2-3 work units. Greetings Thorsten |

Thorsten,
----------------------------------------It's in that 99 with 14 days and 266 only getting half way that made it overly evident that the effort needed was extraordinary.... still 3200 members of the xxx,xxx active is still remarkable and given that 'just' setting the standard crunching parms of AC@H only and backup work not getting any for months did not work and the exercise you went through made the threshold untenable. Consider yourself the victor of the original policy.

tluehr wrote: 2. Set your profile to do only ACH and no work from other projects. Use a very short polling interval (I used 0.02) and a large additional work buffer (I used 4 days). This setting gave me 2 to 4 ACH work units at once when some were available. Thorsten Following your advice is how I got the 4 WUs I needed to get the badge! Out of several machines that are crunching for WCG, only one happened to snag a WU and if my profile hadn't been set to cache 4 extra days of work, I would not have received the extra WUs. Thank you! |
