stefada, Chris meant that if the F16 had been painted with paint that is not waterproof,
it would wash off because we have had a lot of rain today. Awesome looking plane!! Yes, BobMcGee, isn't it fancy ![]() |

Where We’re At
Base Camp is currently idling. You are invited to suggest a host team ![]() Thank you Chris, BobMcG and stefada for making sure our non-team team thread lives Good Morning Base Campers! Business Nothing to do at the office Our badge designer is bored I advertised for suggestions for where to go next If we don’t get any, I may have several up my sleeve - I haven’t stopped shaking from the Sicilians’ free-style traffic culture yet, though ![]() Chit-chat Yesterday we talked about stormy weather in Denmark – and I know this is peanuts compared to most places in the world. Still, we had more than 6,000 lightnings Saturday, more than any meteorologist remembers to have experienced ever - I guess recording lightnings is a fairly new discipline And some of them were quite fancy. This picture shows the Øresund Bridge – the one connecting Denmark and Sweden – taking a hit |

(Little Mermaid and Tanner2 thanks so much now with 1 year badges) Stefata: Sorry for not explaning about the water paint. I´m busy talking to team members (getting them to send me a picture to post on our website. Almost everyone is now on member list with picture. So fun th see their faces. My servers registered 7 spikes in power because of lightning but was protected every time. ![]() |

You're welcome, Chris.tanner2 used to have SeriousCrunchers as his home team, but he seems to have taken a liking to your team. He's of Norwegian descent, so I call him my little brother - better introduce you to some of the Base Camp lore and for an American, Denmark is close enough to Norway Good luck with photoIDing all your crunchers - and weren't you lucky yesterday to have your servers survive the lightning Do you have current surge protection? I remember from my time in the US that this was a serious issue .... but then again they operate with 120V electricity. Perhaps that is more vulnerable. ![]() |

Well , for server protection my power and data cables goes through this little box.https://www.proshop.dk/UPS/APC-Back-UPS-RS-LCD-550-Master-Control/2198581
----------------------------------------It is not that expensive and has been saving the servers many times. If the power goes out it can keep them alive for 30 min. before shutting them down. It evens the power out and i can read how much they need and use. ![]() |

You have a clever device, Chris.
It was widely used in the USA. I fact I thought our power supply was stable, but I can see the power can go out abruptly ever so often in stormy weather. APC - American Power Conversion Corporation - is based in Rhode Island where I lived for six+ years ![]() |
