Heat wave in France.

This morning, at 9 o'clock (local hour) , when come back home with Louloup, it was already 32°C (89,6°F) .
We stand 44°C (111,2°F) in the afternoon.
(of course, there are temperatures in the shade)

Cooking & Share

Recette/recipe . Translator

Today: Salade Niçoise

A very simple recipe, which comes from Nice.

We take Mesclun, a mix of salads, Romaine and Scarole mainly.
We add tuna, anchovies, tomatoes, radishes, peppers, cucumber, green beans, boiled eggs, onions, black olives, basil, and a little olive oil.

Exactly what is needed with the current hot weather.

There is only to admire the landscapes, like this one or that one.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Where We’re At
A trek will soon be arranged, but right now every Base Camper is working with his home team.

Salade Nicoise (don't know where to find that worm hanging under the 'c')
- what a brilliant idea, stefada rose
It comes with baguette, n'est pas?

Good Afternoon Base Campers!
Business
NAP2614 has not given his final approval of the badge, we should put up for our next trek.
As soon as this is in order, I shall prepare the details.
Does anyone know what has become of BladeD?
It's surprising how little we know about each other in spite of meeting here on an almost daily basis.

Chit-chat
It has been necessary for me to take a time-out, but I hope to be back at least part time from now on.
I do hope you, stefada, Saphir12, and Louloup ride off the heat wave.
It's downright horrible temperatures you have smack in the middle of where you live!
You have probably seen this, stefada, perhaps others have not.
It's the likeness between Norwegian artist Edvard Munch's famous painting 'The Scream'
and the temperature curves in your region of France.

Where We’re At
A trek is coming up soon.

Good Afternoon Base Campers!
Business
NAP2614 let me know that the Badge Commission has indeed approved
of the badge you will be able to aquire by participating in our next trek.
I understand that important challenges are taking place for some Base Campers currently.
We can time this upcoming trek so that it allows as many as possible
to join our new trek without sucking power from the racing teams.
When would be a good time for you?

Chit-chat
Today I’ll go to Copenhagen, have brunch at DAC (Danish Architectural Center)
and visit the an exhibition of BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) works which opened recently.
It will be a relatively hot day – 91F
– nothing compared to what takes place in Louloupland
but certainly enough to fill up the 'harbor beaches’
Think about it: If you jumped in some 50 years ago, you would meet a health hazard!

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Ha !

Ha! My sweet little mermaid is back! dancing I missed you.

The curves on the map, those are what are called the isobars, ie the lines that represent the atmospheric pressure (and here I need the translator, that it is too technical compared to my level in English) . Above 1015 hectopascals, we are in an anticyclone, below, in a depression.

Today, we should 'break records' of temperature even more than in recent days. Fortunately, at home it's well spawned. Thank you the little stream flowing under my windows.

Regarding the next trek, I would say from July 8, that we can participate properly in the challenge organized by Chris / GPT (32 teams registered at the time of writing)

No news from BladeD, maybe he was waiting for your return too?

Finally, that it was a long time: A photo of Louloup! Last night at Saphir12, with the flash that gives him blue eyes (they are yellow in real life) . He is not gorgeous? And considering how he is installed, you will not be surprised if I tell you that it knows very well the address! Just say, "We're going to tata (auntie) ," and you just have to follow him.

smile

If that was Fahrenheit, France would have some pleasant cool temperatures. biggrin

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

I assume the GPT challenge is the
Fight for human lives - TRT
- what does TRT stand for? confused

Well, we'll certainly not start any trek until that one is over.
Having a weakness for Hungary, I just went on land
and joined one of the participating teams biggrin

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Thank you, Thomas rose
- it was so close to TNT shock
This is by no means a trek, but if there are Base Campers out there without challenges
- so to speak
you could run to Global Protection Team for the rest of the week love struck
