Where We’re At
Place: Christians Duration: May 31st – June6th Badge: You’re welcome, thepeacemaker7, and thank you for being the spokesperson of our host team stefada, if "Je fond comme du beurre sous le Soleil" is a good thing, and I think it is meant this way, then, yes, that will be the French equivalent of feeling like a yolk in an egg. I think you can compare it to lying protected in your mother’s womb. It’s very interesting with those old folk sayings. Much more that the trend we have now with manipulation of the news to serve political ends … Good Morning Base Campers! Business Now Base Camp’s trek to Christians is over. Many of us still hang in there; that’s one reason why I haven’t corrected the ’Where We’re At’ yet. Whether you have left for your home teams, moved to new and unproven teams or you prefer to linger here: Thank you, Merci, Danke Your badges have been dealt in the Base Camp Hall of Fame ![]() Chit-chat Except for perhaps an occasional eruption, I’ll stay mum until June 13th because I shall raise my tent near Etna – I entrust BladeD with the responsibility for keeping this place ship shape until then with his delegating skills ![]() |

thepeacemaker7,
You're welcome, it was a pleasure ! little mermaid, I love proverbs and know a lot of it. I don't know if it's the same in other languages, but in French dictionary, we have 3 sections. First is common words, it's logic. Third part is private name, country, historic character (Napoléon, Georges Washington, etc) . In the middle, there are pink pages, with proverbs. When I was young, I spent a lot of time to read it. Trek Graphical balance sheet : ![]() Congrats all ! Anecdote : Once again I pass a course when a trek, 11 years of runtime at midday. ![]() As we go home (or leave for a travel for LM) , I propose the most consumed sandwich in France: The jambon-beurre (ham-butter) ! This is a classic that you will find in all bakeries, breweries, and even in many restaurants. The recipe is very simple: Half a baguette cut in half. We spread butter on both sides. We fold a slice of white ham in it. And very often, we add some pickles. If we add fresh lettuce, it becomes a Parisian sandwich. With cheese (emmental most often) , raw vegetables and mayonnaise, it is a Dagobert. This is very popular because originally it was mostly consumed by the workers at noon. And it's also used a lot for picnics, it's simple and good. Today, about 1.5 billion are sold each year in France. And unlike all the other countries in the world, it's only in 2017 that hamburger sales have gone way beyond. ![]() |

Where We’re At ....but the real Sherlock Holmes work as I see it is to keep track of say TLD, cswchan, jan649, and little mermaid - although I have a pretty good idea of what she has in mind and to check if NAP2614 should have sneaked in, which he sometimes do silently. And this is because some of us seasoned Base Campers have been here before. soooo...you are saying we are a pain in the ...???... next time I will send you a PM - or post in base camp when I arrive ???? and leave??? |

You cannot send PMs here jan649.
WCG is too poor to have one such facility. That was back in the UD days. However, as you alternatively suggest, a word in this thread will make a bookkeepers life easier It's a way to make sure everybody gets his badge. Then again, it's not often we return to a team for a fourth time - a team with >700 names on its payroll! |
