Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Yes, but it all went away when I saw how much I would have to read! laughing
Many a kat could learn something here! laughing
I could make a summary for you:
flodisar is good enough as he is
- and he could make a trip to Elsinore or Copenhagen and see how it works for him
- and perhaps submit himself to a Maine Coon
cool

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

stefada, this morning I wrote a comment about your paragliding post.
But I forgot to KLiK the ’Reply to the post’. That happens sometimes blushing
Thank you very much for that post love struck
I cannot believe all the enthusiasm, imagination, cmmitment and money
that goes into a show/race like that.
Not to forget the scenery. It’s truly beautiful at Grenoble.
Good Afternoon Base Campers!
We sent invitations out Forum wide yesterday in an ’Attention – Achtung – Attenzione’ post.
I hope some will come. Just pop up out of the blue dancing
I found Eric_Kaiser crunching busily with Team Andrax.
Do you think you could get time off for a trek to the Netherlands for a day, two, or?
Any time you – and Johnny Cool – can spare will be welcome.
Doneske, you are not with SeriousCrunchers these days, but I hope likewise you will find time to pay
top40nl a visit. Have you ever been to the Netherlands?
I shall invite Speedy51 and DeliciousShoesHD from The International Team for a visit.
BladeD I usually talk to on an almost daily basis. He will probably come and go and come and go and …
Wordgamer pcwr could be a possibility. I have prodded him a few times without response
– I even feed him cakes and banana splits …
You'll have goodies here on this trek too, pcwr devilish they have a sweet tooth in the Netherlands.
Bearcat, my friend Bearcat, is going on a real life camping trip over the 4th of July.
Perhaps he likes the camping life so well that he would consider prolonging it virtually …
He’s so loyal to Minnesota Crunchers that he will return as if he performed a horizontal bungee jump biggrin
– as opposed to UltimaThule blushing
The members of my current team, XtremeSystems are very busy, so even as I published a very moving book
in their/our Forum yesterday, I’m not sure any of them will come sad
Fossaw – like me – didn’t take the censoring from the moderators well. He hasn’t totally forgotten us, though.
I see him visit SeriousCrunchers now and then, and us, too.
It used to be so easy – now it takes considerable footwork. Not that I mind at all smile
All crunchers at WCG – please surprise us!
We have our plates full come August and September
… manning up - expanding our pool of potential Base Campers is desirable
Who else? And which cruncher(s) will feel like staying on with Captain adriverhoef when the music stops?
Oh, I invited a secret guest - have no idea if he will react, but he has the entire month of July to do so biggrin

Private chit-chat
I had a couple of posts removed from the Forum yesterday. So
why did I not run amok or go beserk. Or both? Simultanously?

Because it was done in a kind and gentle way, as I suggested and asked in a recent post.
I would like to thank ErikaT and her team for this gesture.
My post was read and understood the way it was meant.
Thank you for taking time out to brief me in an e-mail coffee coffee
You have no idea what a difference this sort of communication means to me, ErikaT love struck

I visited the dermatologist to get an appointment to have my basal cell cancer
that was removed in March checked earlier than planned. It stings and a small thing is forming …
That cancer should be the least dangerous we have, but no cancer is innocent.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Great videos stefada, thanks for sharing. applause

My pleasure.
blushing

Mais il ne faut pas trop me le dire, que je pourrais passer trois jours sans dormir, à vous parler de tout ce qui vole, de la libellule à l’hélicoptère. Vous savez que c'est ce qu'il y a de plus difficile à piloter ?
---------
But do not tell me too much, that I could spend three days without sleeping, talking about everything that flies, from the dragonfly to the helicopter. You know that's the hardest thing to fly?

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good question, BladeD cool
The CliffsNotes:

France couldn't beat Denmark
- so Argentina will go to the quarter finals

Portugal will beat Uruguay

Spain will beat Russia

Croatia will beat Denmark - they always do unless we get a European Championship 1992 repeat.

For starters we beat the Netherlands in a penalty competition in the semifinals
- and in the final we beat Germany - completely unprecedented
- we hadn't even qualified.
We were entered because Yugoslavia broke up sad
We made a commemorative post stamp
and you couldn't squeeze one more person with a Danish flag into City Hall Square in Copenhagen -
photos

Brazil will beat Mexico

Belgium will beat Japan

Sweden - Denmark always roots for Sweden as long as it's not a national match or if Denmark is out
- will beat Switzerland (sorry KerSamson)

Now Germany is out, England will finally get a renaissance and beat Columbia

And as for the final final
I would put my money on England beating Brazil 4-3 in one heck of match.
Sweden will have silver and Brazil a bronze.

You could become an 'overlord' based on bonus points, BladeD biggrin
Do you want the long one?

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

- but how else to contact you, Arquebus? whistling
Arquebus, may I extend a special, personal invitation to you to take part in Base Camp's top40.nl 2.0 trek
taking place at top40.nl and beginning on July 1 and running for the entire month of July?
You just don't get it do you? Just leave me alone. I have a team I actually belong to and for which I have an affinity. I refuse to be bullied by you into changing teams or opening my soul up to you so that we can become "friends". Using Malcolm Gladwell's terminology, I am a maven not a connector. For a maven, requests to make connections fall on deaf ears, and for me personally, your requests have reached the point of being offensive. There is no way you can contact me nor can you connect with me. Move on.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Thank you for visiting and responding, Arquebus.
You just don't get it do you?
I think I just did idea
Base Camp never asks participants in treks to leave their home teams
– just for the duration of a trek or the time they want to put in.
I had/have no intentions of dissecting you, Arquebus, or force a ’friendship’ upon you.
Your style was intriguing to me. I thought I might be able to mollify it.

I looked up a bit about Malcolm Gladwell and ’mavens’.
Funny how some like to divide us up in groups and put us in boxes with labels on them.

Yes, I’m probably offensive. To be offended seems to have become the national sport of the entire globe.
Facebook can rule the whole world this way.
If a sufficient number of offended people gang up on someone/something, the victim is on its way to trouble.

This will not happen to you and me, Arquebus.
We are – as we concluded a while ago – incompatible.
Inasmuch as incompatibility is the most common reason for divorce,
it doesn’t necessarily exclude every form of exchange between free spirits.
Sometimes sarcasm is an ingredient in humour - and a rejection an invitation.

Should you at any point regret not taking Base Camp’s and my offer
- we trek all the time and want to be friendly with everybody
and find that nobody fits into labeled boxes, but is a unique individual

we always have an open door here.
smile

EDIT: Second use of 'entire' in two consecutive sentences replaced by 'whole'
Clarifying that you can return should you regret .... poor construction of the sentence.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

stefada, such a shame that your eyes were not fit for becoming a pilot.
I hope playing frisbee with Louloup makes up for some of it.
Good Afternoon Base Campers!
Shop talk
This morning I stumbled over a post at Team UK that showed a somewhat lighter side of the members than my previous impression has been.
So, I took the unprecedented step of inviting those who might feel like an adventure abroad to try Base Camping. For most of them it’s just a small, but sea-sickening, trip acroos across the Channel at its widest.
EDIT: 'acroos' corrected into 'across'
- even as 'acroos' could sound as something sea-sickness could make you utter ....
tongue

What is this for a short post? biggrin
That leaves room for one of the Danish Meteorological Institute’s pretty pictures
