A few misc. notes:
----------------------------------------Congratulations to spikey_richie! Word is he starts his new job Monday! In case someone doesn't know, if you click on the Last Page icon in the Last Post column for our thread in the thread list, that will take you to the last page of posts in the thread. While it's not directly to the last post, it gets you real close. I normally try to start a new team thread once we get much beyond 500 posts. Part of the reason is that, if you have 35 pages of posts in the thread and a user clicks on the thread (instead of as above), you have to do a bit of paging to get to the end of the thread. At the moment though, not only do none of the images in the thread header work, neither do any of the links. While I'd like to start a new thread, I hate having a useless header too. I'm heading out of town next week on vacation. I plan to try leaving my machines up and crunching while I'm gone. If my wireless router burps like it does on occasion, I won't be able to reboot it until I'm back. That should just keep my machines from getting/returning work until then but I plan to leave them with enough to last the week. So, if you see my points drop to nothing, that's what's up and it will all hit at end of the week. Once I'm back, I'll be getting set up with the new hosting company, getting our new domain, and getting started down that road. I've been trying to put some thought in just what I was to have the new team site do, how I'll need to implement that and just trying to look ahead enough that I start out on the right road from the beginning. As for the stats next week, Dave's going to capture the data for me. While I could simply post stats for the week as a whole, with the data from each day, I'll be able to give the results for each day. They'll just be delayed until I'm back. Oops, one more: For those who are wondering about why posts are displaying so wide, which can make plain text like this a bit hard to read, one thing that can cause that are wide pictures in posts. Seems our forum software adjusts the width of all posts in the thread to match. There's no problem with anyone posting pics, but if you do, please be aware of this and their size. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by keithhenry at Nov 15, 2007 4:35:06 AM] |

Congrats Spikey! What do you do? For that matter, what do all of you do? I read books and write papers and make $-26000 (as in negative $26000) a year doing it.
Also, apologies for my stats being low recently. I've been dealing with some DSL issues in my apartment. My roommate is too cheap to get cable, which actually works reliably. DSL gives Windows Vista a run for its money in terms of uselessness! |

Thought you were off Vista?? Time for bed. ![]() ![]() |

Well, my Dad taught me that education is one thing that's always worth spending money on. I guess I took that to heart. I plan on being a career academic and doing a PhD after I finish my MTS and maybe a law degree and another couple of masters'. Although I would love to get a B.A. in Russian Lit and psychology. I have gone off Vista and back to XP pro thank God. It just took a while to get up and running again. As far as the cost goes, my roommates and I consider the WCG to be part of our attempt to give back to the community. All three of us have benefited largely from a free education in the US and from the safety and security our nation provides. We believe that it is an obligation to try to help out others who are not so fortunate.
