Courine, forgive me - but you have never (that I recall) made your position on global warming issues particularly clear. You keep talking about fairytales and witches, without clearly stating your own opinions, and where they diverge from other opinions presented here.
So, will you "put your money where your mouth is" and give it to us straight? What do you conclude about the current and future state of the climate and environment? |

You gloom and doomers have ruined this forum.
----------------------------------------I can see why Adywebb is leaving. http://folding.stanford.edu/ Edit: I used gloom and doomers instead of tree huggers so I would not get censored by the admins. ;) [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 8, 2007 2:14:13 AM] |

Why are you guys so interested in shooting yourselves in the foot?
----------------------------------------The title of this thread points to a statement that is not a suggestion. The only question in my mind is "who is going to clean up the mess?" What will happen when the equaly compeling evidence given in the 60's and 70's for global cooling would have put us by now in an early ice age? Why is it that the original stats on global warming are not panning out? What is the primary cause of global dimming? What is the most abundant condensation nuclei on the planet? YES, all this and more, on the next edition of: _ BURN ____ That _______WITCH! ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by courine at Sep 8, 2007 3:38:45 AM] |

LOL Oh dear
----------------------------------------Courine join us all in the To the Greenies thread I could use some support Cheers Brink I keep putting forward the evidence from none other than the UK Met Office and the drivers behind the CO2 debate like Tax Tax Tax did I mention Tax? It's mostly about Tax. I think if you look very closely at the nitty gritty detail you might start to get an inkling that Tax is the biggest driver behind the CO2 debate that and loads of cash and new market opportunities for CO2 reducing initiatives that will probably go to swell the coffers of the Tax Man. Now if they were to blame it on anything else like just for starters Natural Cycles, Solar Activity, Eccentricity of Earths orbit, Changing Topology or even the fact that we plain don't have enough reliable data to go on see http://www.brannan.co.uk/thermometers/invention.html around about 1714 a reproducible reliable scale was created. So that's tops 300 years in 4.5 Billion . You will see that there's nothing they can Tax us on so they are all none starters. It has to be CO2 you see because it amounts to 350 out of every 1000000 parts of the atmosphere so it is obviously the culprit Yours as green as I can be and dreading it being an excuse the build more Nuclear Plants Dave ![]() |

You gloom and doomers have ruined this forum. A bit dramatic considering there are 2 threads and a handful of posters on the subject. In your own words, "you dropped this": ![]() |

Dave,
----------------------------------------The word "excuse" is a vast understatement. Try "manufactured consent". The reason why I'm here and not in the green thread, is they have a right to an opinion like you or I. But this thread makes a statement, not a suggestion. The other thread is a pure demand. The one moved was the only suggestion here. Some would wonder why I have not taken that action more personaly. I do have to admit that its a bit telling, but thats it. Personally though, when it comes to DC, I love the sound of CPU fans. There is no sound like it.. It reminds me of the fight back in grid.org, where every result was met with a salute. I cant quite place it. That whirring? But to me, there's nothing like waking to the sound of CPU fans in the morning. It seems to sound like a call. It sounds like?... It sounds like?..... victory. Someday, this will all be over Dave. God, what will we do? ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by courine at Sep 9, 2007 4:44:48 AM] |

On the original thought of this thread
----------------------------------------The BBC has scrapped plans for Planet Relief, a TV special on climate change. The decision comes after executives said it was not the BBC's job to lead opinion on climate change. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/6979596.stm They would have encouraged people to "switch off" some things to save energy. BBC executives decided that they did not want to be proactive.
