Rom tells me this is going to be a blocking issue for the Linux release, but that he wants to get the Windows and Mac versions out of the door first.
If you are into doing the heavyduty debugging thing, then there is a little more you can still do. There's no pressure on you to do this, though - it's just a bonus. First, you could switch on the http and proxy debug flags that are documented here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/ClientMessages - I fully expect this will give the same results that Mikus found. You could also try the <http_1_0> flag. Secondly, you could try a little packet sniffing. If we had a trace of the failed communication attempt, it may help identify the problem. |

I have installed 5.10.7_x86_64 and it seems to be allowing to connect and download WU. I will keep monitoring it to see what happens but it may be fixed.

Great that it's fixed, but I hate not knowing how.

5.10 has had a lot of work done to try to work on Linux x64 ( http://boinc.berkeley.edu/linuxx64.php ) Glad to hear it seems to work on your distro!
