The only other post that pops up the same error report is here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=12771#92719 and seemingly setting the shutdown delay on Vista fixes the issue.

There is a Vista knowledge collection post in the Start Here forum!

Added: hmmmm thought this member wrote that anything not 24/7 was a sinful act, so the closing of an OS is very unlikely wink

Yes, but we've had thunderstorms & power outages.
So changing the Vista shutdown settings wouldn't help when the power goes poof. I have my main machine on a UPS, but not the other 10 at the house. The only machines at work with UPS protection are the servers.
