Re: Multiple Errors with FAAH units over many machines...

Kevin - I've not seen any evidence of that with any of my units that error'd - they were never granted half credit in the first place - they all had zero, and now all look like they have been granted normal credit.

That is why it surprised me, but I have some other metrics that I look at to make sure things are running correctly. The two that were odd are:

1) BOINC will validate about 90 years today. That will be a record by about 20 years.

The issue lasted about 6 hours - so if I'm correct, our total runtime for today will be 5/4ths of what it normally should be. If I estimate what it should have been without this problem it would be 4/5 * 90 = 72. That would be consistent with our recent history and growth.

I also track the overall credit per 24 hours of runtime that have been granted each day. We normally average around 200 BOINC credits per 24 hours of runtime. However, today we are sitting around 170 BOINC credits per 24 hours of runtime. This would be consistent with half credit being granted for the work during the problem earlier today.

All of ours that had errors also seem to have been granted normal credit too, eg:

Sorry I should be clearer.

You won't see it on the results page. Those values got overwritten when the workunits were re-run. It will simply have been added to your host, user and team score.

Very probably in the WCG points/time stats only, ergo only visible after the coming midnight stats run..... no bragging rights at BOINCstats confused tongue biggrin

I concur wholeheartedly. I am extremely impressed with how quickly knreed jumps on these problems. Something that was glaringly missing in other DC projects I've attempted. Thumbs up to you all.

Re: Multiple Errors with FAAH units over many machines...

Is there anybody out there that actually benefited from the stats accumulation hitch? Had one HPF2 that turned with the 14 PV's before mine to 'Error'. It did get corrected and converted to 'Valid' but neither BOINC credits nor WCG points credit show an extra boost.... it's almost like only the global projects and overall got the 25% spike from the BOINC component. Some teams running almost exclusively BOINC should see some impact.

I can't say for sure, but I had my first 1000 hour day ever & all catagories seemed to spike.
I usually show about 800 hours a day & about 60 units.
The only 2 units that show an ERROR status are both from my only VISTA machine. Both had the same message (pasted below).
Is this a Vista only error? Or is something else going on with this client?
None of the 40+ XP machines have generated an error.
<core_client_version>5.8.15</core_client_version>
