Retiring from dc in 2 weeks/wtf/won't complete in time

Got me a pesky work unit here.

hpf2 5.18 lb792_00002_0

Still at 1% after 14 hours.........guess a 2.4 ghz rig is too slow for this one laughing

Should I nuke it and go on to the next one.

Oddly at 1% after 14 hours yet the ETA for the remainder says 21 hours....spose that must be increasing as we go though.

Silly work unit.

Viao, you ol squirrel fur,

Can't remember who posted the repeated hot tip on HPF2's (Olympic or Sgt. Joe, but certainly a good doer). Suspend the project (not the WU!). Wait a few minutes. Reactivate project. Very obviously, for a Master Cruncher, you know all the ropes to verify if there is more junk in the specific work units quorum or wink

Let is know if the folding resumes else we'll help you back to folding, the swiftest manner.

Re: Retiring from dc in 2 weeks/wtf/won't complete in time

I had the same problem. My project was at a stand still. It had frozen around 5%. What I did to resolve this problem was to reload the World Community Grid program and then run it. From that point on, I no longer have any problems and all of my projects, so-far, have been running fine ever since. I accumulated quite a bit of points now. And again, my projects are running fine.
Your processor (CPU) speed is fine. I have 2 Gigs of DDR memory in my computer and RAM is important when it comes to speed and of course, the CPU speed is important as well. Now, my CPU speed is only about 2.18 Gig Hz but it runs fine! It's easily handling these projects.

Again, Your CPU speed is fine!

Reboot your computer first and if that does not resolve your problem then reload (download again) the World Community Grid program and run it and this should resolve your problem.

How much RAM do you have?

Bob

Oh, as an aside.......I couldn't be bothered rebooting after last windows update....never know, possibly a contributary factor.

But I do generally try to reboot within a fortnight of applying updates laughing
Wasted dc time is sooooooo ugh.
