Hi all,
last year I tried with no success to run WCG on my boinc client (XP SP2 / boinc v5.8.16) behind the proxy / firewall of my client company (all other projects are running fine), with no success. This year, I try again, and the problem seems different, but still no success : after attaching the project, it can't terminate to download all files (last year, I had all files with size 0). One of the comments in the For the remain files (14), I always have 14/05/07 13:51:41|World Community Grid|[file_xfer] Temporarily failed download of hpf2.Paa.gz: http error 14/05/07 13:51:41|World Community Grid|Backing off 25 min 35 sec on download of file hpf2.Paa.gz 14/05/07 13:51:42||Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down. The strange think is that a great part of the files were actually transfered (87 objects in my project directory), and then it stopped and it is stalling. It's too bad cause I installed it on my boinc client on my iMac at home and (of course no proxy) it works fine. I'm a participant of the Alliance Francophone raid currently running. Thanks for your help. |

Someone a few months ago had battle with getting files across. Visit http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=11023
----------------------------------------What security software is being used? If all projects run fine and WCG does not, it's because WCG is the only one that uses port 443 over https. Is any work listed with 'ready to start'? Can you disable HPF2 in your profile and only select Genome Comparison. This project work file and executable are pretty much the smallest. HPF2 science file which is transferred once during set up is rather large.
WCG

Oh yes, "Establish HTTP proxy tunnel to secure.worldcommunitygrid.org:443" is most certainly blocked here in corporate proxy config, I was almost fired by my client cause I used to have a personnel ssh tunnel to my home machine...
They are quite intolerant about these things, so I guess I won't be using WCG at the office, but it's ok ! Thanks for the input. |
